Brake Job,-one of them HELP ME, dummies thread

Okay, I will be hanging around here and I've made it my priority to take care of this problem. I need to do my passenger DRIVE SHAFT, so I should probably concentrate on that FIRST, prior to this job.

I will be using PBR/AXISS Metal Masters, for ROTORS, I'm debating on whether I should eat the RAPE ASS shipping to HI for some brembo blanks, or just go with AUTO ZONE. Do it once, do it right. Might just pull the trigger, brembos for a peace of mind..

I might seem like a gosh darn dummy and noob, but I will try my best and do my homework, and put in my effort.

What parts should I order to replace on my car? I'll start by getting parts so I don't waste time. I have a 90 Accord EX, 83k, AUTO, maybe new pin boots? SHIMS?? I really don't know what to order.

Anyhow thanks, I must search and get some money to do the PASSENGER DRIVE SHAFT. btw will any brand be okay??

*I've got a lots of miscellaneous small stuff to ask, but I will get to it when I cans.

i personally just use lifetime warranteed remanufactured axles from autozone. if they ever break or fail, i simply take them off and autozone will give me a new ones for free. i already replaced them twice, due to my 5-lug conversion and bad camber kit, so they are already worth it right there.

for the rotors, i also use autozone. honestly with my driving brembos are not worth the extra dough unless you really want that peace of mind. i do some spirited canyon driving too and my rotors are handling it well. it's preference i guess.

for pads it's preference again, but i had good experiences with AEM. most autox peeps tell me to use OEM pads so i went OEM when i did my 5-lug. they are great and function just as well. you really don't need to shim the pad.

i would recommend flushing out your old brake fluid and installing newer DOT4 or higher quality stuff. check your ball joints and bushings for cracks. replace if necessary.

    good luck!
