It's nearly time to upgrade my current brake setup (OEM rotors and Hawk HPS pads) with something a bit more performance minded but daily friendly. Just was curious what others are running that might give a bit better braking force and yet not be entirely harsh for a daily driver. Thanks for any input.

I think a new set of slotted rotors and EBC green stuff pads would give you a lot more stopping power. Very cost effective, too. If you have rear drums, do a disc conversion.Last edited by honda2014; 07-02-2013, 09:56 PM.Originally posted by Quashishhahaha

Thanks for moving the thread.
Yeah, basically gonna go with StopTech slotted rotors, Hawk HPS pads and Goodridge SS lines. My guy at the local parts shop said that he can do everything for just over $400. I felt that it's a decent start and it should give me a much firmer brake setup. Anyone running this setup or anything close to it?

Can you lock your brakes with your current setup?
If so, don't bother upgrading over what you have. Upgrade your tires. If you then find you cannot lock your brakes, then focus on that.
You cannot improve street brakes if you can already lock the wheels. You may be able to change brake feel, but you cannot improve brake performance. Something like stainless lines will give you a firmer feeling pedal but will not improve performance. Your brakes will feel stronger, and thus feel better, but in actual numbers, brake stopping distances will remain unchanged.
Obviously if you see any heavy Auto-X and or track time (which more than 98% of our members won't see), then yes, a brake upgrade makes sense because you're trying to control brake fade.

Have you tried a more aggressive compound?
