Just wondering what some of you think of using a rebuilt kit on calipers. Vs buying remanufactured ones. Is it just as good or not really? At my local jy I can get a set of prelude vtec calipers for $10 each so $20 for both. If I buy used I want to make sure they will be in good working order.

bring a c clamp with you to the junker. detatch the brake line and compress the piston. if there is little resistance then you have a good caliper ( most likely ). the fronts hardly ever go bad since its a simple front back movement the rears however are usually hard to find in good working condition especially the rear passengers.
id take a good junked caliper over a 60$ reman anyday as long as the seals are good then you will come out ahead. if you have a bad seal then 30$ caliper + 20$ reman kit isnt worth it to me.Last edited by xkjnboix; 01-18-2012, 02:41 AM.

the piston seal does the work, the dust seal helps keep things happy.1990 accord Honda-Challenge, H22 powered
