    All about brake fluids!

    Post up what brake fluids you are currently running, or have run. Tell how they compare to each other, and if you've ever had boiling issues or not.

    Also, feel free to discuss your subjective opinions about different fluids. GO!

    I'm running Valvoline Dot 3&4 brake fluid, and haven't had any issues, though I have experienced fade before. The pads were smoking at the time, so I'm not sure if any fluid was boiling or not lol.

    I'm currently looking at Motul RBF 600 and ATE Super blue. The ATE seems to be the way to go. It comes in a 1000ml size for a few dollars less than a 500ml bottle of the Motul...and the wet boiling point is only a few degrees F lower.

    Wet boiling point is the temp you look at for contaminated, or used brake fluid...basically for any road car. Dry boiling temp is the boiling temp straight out of the bottle...this only applies for a race car where you're changing fluid very often.

    You only put the brake fluid that your system is designed to use. Everyone here is running dot 3 or 4.

      What kind of statement is that? Do you know how many formulations there are, and the different temperatures each is capable of? Dot 3, 4, 5 is just a minimum standard and says hardly anything about the fluid's properties.

      That's like me asking you what kind of tires you're running and you say "rubber"

          No, that's not what I was asking. I was asking what types of dot 3 or 4 people were using/have used. It was an opening for discussion. Dot 5 will work too, as long as it isn't mixed with dot 3/4

            Really i didnt know that. A quick google search brings back that dot 5 cant be used with ABS. So much for that swap.

              Right. Many CB7s are non-abs though, or are converted to non-abs.

                        Its not all in the fluid, it could be your pads/rotors too.

                          I have ATE Super Blue and GS 610 in my street cars and the track car can not run anything other than Castrol SRF. I think that the SRF is the best fluid for track use and the Super Blue or even GS 610 would be the best for the street.

                          Acura RSX-S=Super Blue
                          Acura Integra GSR=GS 610
                          Accord=Super Blue
                          CRX=GS 610
                          EVO 9 (track car)=SRF
