CL 2.3 vs CL 3.0 hubs

whats the difference in the hubs? i read they share the same bearing and a rough test fit of a spare CB axle seems like the spline is the same.

anyone know te difference for sure or has the measurements of a cl 2.3 hub?

i've got a CL hub here right now but i have nothing to take measurements with. sorry man.

if you're going to buy them brand new from Acura, Bernardi Acura in Boston has them for 91 bucks per side. That ought to be the cheapest from a dealer and probably the only place that you'll find it for under 100 per side.

the only thing i was able to find from a general search for Acura CL was that the 3.0 had 11" rotors instead of the 10.2.

so...it would appear you'd also need the wagon bracket and calipers but they should work.

possible the Cl 3.0 bracket? since the CL front suspension design is so similar. ill see if i can get a CB7 knuckle for mock up. i figured i could swap over all the cl parts.

but is the rotor hat different depth than a prelude vtec? cl 3.0 vs prelude vtec rotor cost is quite a bit. but both 11"

also would it be possible to use ITR calipers

            The 3.0 hubs use the 95-97 Cd5 V6 bearing.

The 3.0 CL and Cd5 V6 use the same axle.

I personally think they will not work on the CB.

            --------------------

Now, i think this will work on a CB with a V6 swap.
So that will solve that issue.

Lets now focus on the wiring and mounts haha...

cl 3.0 and cl 2.3 use the same bearing. that i have looked up. at least same part number. and isnt the splines same on cd5 axle vs cb7? just lil different in length.

EDIT: also V6 cb7 as u talk of in your sig. cl 3.0 cradle and cut out the mounts from the unibody. be much easier in a cd5. i was tempted to do that since i have all the parts laying around

Nope, i know for a fact that the 2.3CL uses the same CB, 4cyl Cd5, and 2.2CL bearing.

The 3.0CL shares the same bearing with the V6 Cd5.
They just have different hubs and rotors (ROH vs HOR)

The 3.0 stuff wont work with your CB axles.

well scrtach that idea. cl 2.3 hubs are too pricey for me to buy new.

90 a side isnt too bad if leung is right, that would be a bit cheaper than the tas deal.

well u gotta think in my case

                      CL hubs - $180
                      OeM bearings - $45 a side
                      oem lower balljoint - $15 a side
                      brembo blanks - $46 a side

plus id like itr calipers and new lines. adds up alot. probably mod prelude hubs or go wagon route

do you know what caliper bracket is needed for wagons? other than just wagons. my calipers are gettin replaced anyway

i was going to say this is probably one of the more expensive conversions but it makes things so much easier in the future.

you don't have to get the most kick ass pads and rotors right off...

get the upgrade...it's an upgrade by itself.

THEN when the pads wear out...replace them and the rotors with better parts...then do the lines. Space it out and you can do more now...it'll take a bit more time but you'll still be upgrading. You don't HAVE to do every little thing all at once...upgrade little by little.

true but my car has all orginal lines, ball joints and calipers.

im reading into using the prelude hubs with a lil machining since i have a set sitting here
