when i was at the auto parts store i saw caliper paint and on the can it said calipers, rotors, and something else and i thought who the hell would spray paint their rotors thats how u brake but then my buddy told me that some people do that to keep their rotors from rusting. he told me that if u paint the whole thing than when u brake the pads will eat away the paint and leave the rest of it painted and pretty don't know if i would do it or not

you're supposed to tape off the faces of the rotor really, so you don't get that paint clogged up in your pads, but yeah.

If you want to paint them, use a primer etch paint, then high temp over the top.
Just make sure you mask off the face of the rotor.

These are plated, the only difference is they don't rust, nothing special. I remember painting the civic rotor's vents and later on down the road the rust came back and it looked terrible again, lol. Platting ftw if you're buying new rotors.

Yeah, I will always buy plated rotors, but the ones I have came with the TAS ROH prelude/v6 accord kit, and I'm not sure if they're plated or not, so I'm painting them just to be safe.

And yes, I taped off the faces lol.

I'll be putting all the new brake shit on in a few weeks here when I have my spring break, so I'll put up pics.

Also, you don't need a etching primer first, just rub the surface down good with a scotch-brite pad and then clean it off and you're all good. I used duplicolor black 1200F ceramic paint by the way.
