what's the saying?... price, performance, quality- you can only have two. something like that...
in any event "best" is such a subjective term. best looking? best performing? best value? best over a year's time? best stopping power? best at resisting fade (traditionally 6 consecutive 60-0mph stops)? i could go on and on.
as far as i know, there's no study, no comparison of all of these brakes on a cb7.
the companies i can think of are:
aem
wilwood
stoptech
rotora
brembo
baer
tenzo
i guess you could also throw in the legend and nsx brake swaps.
i'm not sure that stoptech, rotora, wilwood, or baer make bbk's for the cb7. i know that each of those companies makes them for newer accords, so i suppose that if you did a 5 lug swap, that perhaps those would work. but that would require more money, and part of your original question was price.
so i suppose that leaves us with aem, tenzo, and brembo. i don't think i have enough information on all three companies to really do a fair comparison. that, and i don't have a bbk myself.
however, i trust usc and bustedlx... not sure if usc still does, but at one point he had the aem bbk. bustedlx has an aem bbk. off my trust of those 2 guys alone, that's the route that i would go.
doesn't really answer your question, but when it comes to brakes, i would go with a company you trust, and throw "cheapest" out of the equation. i'd hate to get into an accident, and think of the cheap brakes that may be the culprit.
thanks uncle_el, you can do things for cheap but never use the cheapest stuff, was just thinking about the best set up for least amount of money, i was looking into bbk's and wanted to know what the best overall setup was for the cb7, as far as perfermance, looks, durability, but that helped me out, thanks

on the 'net, you often lose the inflection of words, as well as connotation when posts are short. wasn't sure what you meant by cheap, as you didn't really elaborate. no biggie.
personally, i would pm both usc and bustedlx about their feelings about the aem bbk.
in any event, read this it's about the legend brake swap, but at the end, usc get's into the big brake kit.
As Elliot already alluded to, there's really no cheap way to get that "best overall" BBK.
An effective brake upgrade involves rotors, calipers, pads, brake fluids, while maintaining the ideal and proper brake bias. And never forgetting the most important part: where the rubber meets the road.
If you want the brake upgrade to be "noticeable" to everyone else, then go with an aftermarket kit. Just remember, however, that if you do get one with a 4-pot caliper (or 6-pot or 8), then you'll be forced to upgrade your rims and at the same time, be SEVERELY limited on the selection to choose from.
The AEM O.E. BBK is a good cosmetic upgrade while maintain everything else stock. It will require 16" rims for clearance but you won't have to putts with finding the proper offsets and spoke clearance.
