    Steel Braided Brake Lines

    I am about to buy a set of these brake likes, My question, are they a pain to install as compared to normal ruber lines and what are you guys experiences with them.

    They are not very difficult to install. You should by box end wrenches or line wrenches to break the fittings loss. A 10mm and 12mm will be all you need.

    They make the pedal feel stiffer because they do not flex like the rubber lines. I personally don't car for them and run rubber lines. I just don't feel like making my daily driver any less comfortable then I have to.

      I'm wanting the steel braided for the looks mainly, as only place here locally i can get oem rubber lines is the dealership and i really dont wanna go that route

        Because the pedal would be stiffer and have less pedal travel. Just not my bag. The benefits just aren't worth the price they cost. That's just my opinion though.

          That's not true. The fact that the lines do not flex reduces the amount of effort necassary to apply the brakes translating into less pedal travel and a stiffer pedal.

          I've installed countless SS lines for customers so I'm pretty familiar with them. They're just something I don't want on my car.

            IMO, I'm not going for looks and the less pedal effort is a plus...what I really see as a benefit is the stainless steel braiding protects your brake lines from doing work around them (you have less to worry about rupturing a rubber brake line) and they will last longer. To me it makes sense in the long run, less to mess with later.

              i have worked on cars for years though and how many times in the life of a car do you really need to replace a brake line

                I have goodridge SS lines all the way around and they feel fine to me. I didn't notice a decreased effort at all. The most noticeable thing can only be described as a "Firmer" brake feel. Not uncomfortable just firm.
