    KYB GR-2 struts?

    So, I was just offered:

2" drop springs and KYB GR-2 struts for $150.

Any info on this would be great. I'm not sure what the springs are (make), I'm more concerned about the struts. Good brand? Good buy for $150? etc.
    Thanks!

    Hell To The Yeah!!!

If the mileage on the GR2's are less than 100,000 miles. It's definitely a good steal.

yeah thats a good deal.... the gr-2s are too soft of a strut for many peeps including myself. I took mine off and upgraded to agx.... but thats a good deal still.

They're new in box... I'm not sure what the springs are though.

Still sounds like a good deal just for the struts, assuming that is the part that you are looking for.

              AGX>gr-2?

Yeah AGX are adjustables while GR2's are not. But with GR2's , you'll be fine. I ran GR2's for a while and they are stiffer then OEM's. Go for it. They won't blow.

Yes the agx is better than the gr2. Especially so with any type of lowering spring. With a stiffer lower spring paired with a soft oem type replacement strut (gr2) its gonna give a bouncy ride. If your goal isnt crazy handling then the gr2 will be fine. But as i said before i got tired of the bounciness on my neuspeed race springs with gr2s.

would it be an upgrade to the stock handling?

It would be stiffer since you are used to your old OEM shocks.

The GR-2s might be useful if you ever need to send you Koni yellows off to be rebuilt or revalved, so you won't be off the road while it's done.

What's that, you don't have Konis, well get some!

The GR-2s won't be a good drop or performance damper, they're more or less OEM replacement and won't like a lower ride height or stiffer springs any more then the OEM ones would. Having said that they may be stiffer than your OEM dampers because they are new and the OEM probably aren't

                          dont underestimate the kyb gr2's.

i have gr2's with sprint extreme 2.25" lowering springs. i love the ride and the handling. it feels just slightly stiffer than stock just driving around town, but i can feel the difference when i really push it on the twisty country roads.
