Bump Stop

Do I have to cut bump stop for my H&R sport spring if i dont where can i buy new bump stops from because i cut them for my coilovers now i have springs

You'll be fine. Most people cut them a little.

What the hell is the bump stop?

I just tore apart a set of struts and springs and I didn't see what I thought would be a the bump stop. I thought they went around the shaft of the shock/strut.

It's the rubber piece on top of the shaft, shown in the pic below. I cut mine about half and it made a huge difference in the ride quality on a drastic 3+ inch drop.

Aha! Now I get it, it's the rubber doughnut looking dealy that sits in the top of the shock tower? Almost looks like one of those dogs toys...

So what's the theory with cutting these? More shock travel?

they don't give much at all and when you're car's radically dropped, they bottom out and it's like riding on a rigid suspension. by cutting them, you give yourself a bit more travel to hopefully avoid that problem.
