    Loose Front end???

Hey guys. My 90 4dr just had new tires put on the front, and yes the tires were rotated. The car feels really loose at any speed higher than 50. The alignment should be fine and they should be balanced, so I'm not sure whats making it feel loose. Any help is great.

it might be too much tire pressure. does the steering wheel vibrate?

that or depending on the road (concrete with the stupid creases), your tires might just have better traction. on certain spots of the highway (concrete), my car feels kinda wiggly. regular asphalt it's smooooth as silk.

I have about 37 psi in the tires. That might be the problem. What should they be? I think the factory rates it at 28. Would that make that big of a difference?

I concur with Fizzbob. It should be around 32 psi.

            32 psi without snow

            30 psi with snow

that's my recommendation....I live in Michigan, we get snow.

Also, if your car sways from side to side alot...maybe it's ur sway bar bushings ...if tire psi wasn't the case

after lowering tire psi, they fine now?

My 91 SE front suspension is jacked somewhere. Can anyone help narrow it down? Here are symptoms:

                1) When taking a 90 degree turn semi-fast the car grips, then suddenly if feels like the tires slide out from underneath & the body sways to the outside. I almost fishtailed into a curve it's so bad.

                2) Going down expressway like 70-80 mph and changing lanes normally, worse when aggressively it feels to wishy washy...you totally feel unsafe.

It's similar symptoms to when my sway bar bushings were f**ked up...but I replaced the FR & RR endlinks like a year or 1.5 yrs ago.

When I get to it I'm checking tie-rod ends, front sway bar and front coil springs.

Between them 3 I think the problem lies

good look fizzbob...on the 91 SE I don't think the upper/lower ball jts have been replaced in a while.

left front, upper strut mount on our 88 integra is going & it creaks & hits like a bitch on inclines/bumps....but our 91 SE is all good in that respect

Lemme see here..since I look at tires plus and all, as an allignment specialist, tire technician and such..hehe

Take a good look at your suspension. High tire pressure will not make the car feel loose, but it is a bad thing to have. I reecommend 35 pis in cold winters, and about 28-32 in summer. One thing you need to chekc is lpay..jsut jack the car up, and grab both sides of the wheel..now, shake it back and forth, and up and down. back and forth..new ball joints, both back and forth AND up and down, yo ufeel it move..( you will knnow what I am talking about) it will feel "loose" this means you need a new set of bearings. 9/10 times this is the case....I replaced bearings on 3 cars just last night..

Yeah, my front end seems to be doing weird stuff too... I get a weird vibration at about 75mph... it goes like this (I'll try my best to describe):

smoooooooooth... da da da da da... smooooooooooth... da da da da da.... smoooooooooth....

So, it goes from riding smooth to shakey, in an even frequency... I'm wondering if it's maybe ball joints, but I'm not sure... also the left front tire has an odd wear pattern. It has some camber wear on the inside, then the middle is fine, then the outside is worn more than the middle... on the passenger side, it just has the camber wear (which I expected - 1.5" drop w/ no camber kit)...

                        Any ideas anyone?
