    Problem with the rear!!!!!

I bought my new Falken 512s' 205/55/15. I also evened out the back and made sure the ride height was even left and right side before alighning the car. So I now have a 1 inch gap in the back and the front has 1 1/4" gap. I also have the Apexi WS coils and and ST sway bars front and back.

Here is the problem; when I turn a corner or a tight curve slow, I here a rattle but not all the time in the rear. Like if it's the end of the sway bar links as if they get loose and the washers rattle. One, two or three loud clacks and thats it. This never happened before!!! Could it be the extra 1/4" drop I made to the rear???

you're not very clear on when and how the problem occurred.

did you notice the problem after you installed the tires? or the coils? or the sway bars?

Apexi WS coil-overs'. I've had them for about a year.

well, check your end links for the sway and/or the springs/coil-overs. my guess is when the car was jacked up to remove the wheels for new tires, the spring either got shifted somehow and is not sitting well/where it should be, and or the link was shifted and now there's more freeplay.

This is one of them things where you have to be as specific as possible or have someone present to see where it's coming from and at least narrow it down some more.

If the aftermaket suspension parts were installed recently, I would check to see if everything is fastened down properly.

I would then recheck the alignment areas to see if the mechanic properly fastened those suspension parts down. (I think this is where the problem lies).

I would then check your lug nuts on all 4 wheels just in case, if you did not reinstall them yourself....because if something else was loose based on the alignment, these could be too...u never know.

If none of the above turned out, then maybe your coilover setup was not properly installed or like USC said, shifted and did not seat properly.

My entire set-up has been on for over a year now, but yesterday I jacked up the rear and I noticed that not even a hair could fit in between the exh. pipe and the sway bar. I guess its that 1/4'' that I dropped is causing the rattle.

BTW, get this. (god is on my side) I've been hearing a thumping sound that increases and decreases with speed on the front pass wheel. I figured its a worn wheel bearing. so after heading home from work at like 90 mph, i jacke the front pass and found the wheel hanging by one last lug!!!!! The fuckers at the last place I was at i guess forgot to really tightn the lugs. they're gonna hear from me.

which is why i bought my own torque wrench so that whenever i get work done anywhere other than my mechanic's (only because i see them torquing the lugs down properly), i always loosen the lugs myself and retorque them properly to spec. nobody but you to watch over yourself.
