We hammered it in, and then later broke the joint. Now the axle will not come out. I lost a castle nut. My dad's entire side of the family is coming from Kentucky here and my car is tore apart in the garage. There are a few people angry at me because of this. I am pissed.
Get you some sort of big pry bar and pry it out. As for hammering it in you use a softface hammer not a hammer hammer. You give it a lil twist and a hard push it should help rotate it into place.

/rant.
So you couldn't get the passenger side axle in the tranny? You hammered it in from where it was attached to the hub/rotor? Damn, and its broken now. Most reman. axles have a lifetime warranty, you can say it broke in the course of normal driving. I'm guessing you lost the castle nut for the tie rod? or the balljoint? Damn You can get it easily at the honda dealership, but they won't be open til Friday i'm guessing (b/c of thanksgiving).
G-Man, if your family is like mine they'll never, never fully understand why some people choose to do their own work. My dad respects what I do, or at least attempt, but in the end if there's any setback he's "just pay the guy and get it back on the road ..."
Enjoy Thanksgiving and to hell with the car and the issues for a day. Next time it'll go better all 'round.
I got it done last night. I had to get a replacement of the one under warranty, but that was easy.
One thing, in order to get the strut fork back into position I had to loosen the strut pinch bolt to get it to move up there. From all the info I gathered that was not included, including the process in the Haynes manual. This of course could differ with stock struts/springs but when you have Neuspeed Race and KYB AGX things are different.
