i really do hope when you decide to drop your car, you'll consider aftermarket shocks as well.5.6L V8 32V DOHC

Against my dad's thoughts I lowered mine on H&R Sport springs and AGX's, and he rode in it the next day and couldnt believe how much BETTER it rode. Now he has no issues with it, but ofcourse it wasnt an extreme drop either.
Also my stock rear struts were blown, so that made a huge difference.

IF you havent done any sort of suspension rebuilding IE.... bushings balljoints etc. a drop will ruin it. just a thought, and rebuilding your front end is not cheap. Specially if you pay someone to do it.H22 Prelude VTEC 92-96 200 161 10.6:1 87 90 DOHC VTEC 2157 JDM

But to be fair, that mechanic has probably seen his fair share of fucked-up, half-assed modifications come to him for rescuing. Regardless, it's the same reason they won't recommend you ever replace suspension components that "aren't broken" because if it isn't falling off the car it's "about as good as new."
The only concern you have (and it isn't small) is to pick quality stuff and not to fuck up the installation --- like hondatuner4267 said, dad's jaw will drop when he goes for a ride and sees how much better it is than your worn out crap. And then do take it by the mechanic and school him while you're at it. Get on the Regionals subforum here and get some install help from somebody local to you if necessary.
If you can, save some extra $$ and do some updating while you're at it. Take phatdoughnut's advice and replace some of the front end. You can get decent quality upper control arms and outer tie rod ends for less than $100 and install them yourself in an afternoon --- and see a big improvement in steering quality. Look at it this way, you'll need to have it aligned anyway after lowering it, so why not put that stuff on at the same time and pay for an alignment only once.
(BTW, I have Tein S [with Koni Reds] on my 5th gen and love them. Plenty low too for a daily driver, if you ask me.)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

if you can save the cash, buy some super streets, and at night secretly lower your car like .5" a week. Your dad won't notice because of the gradual change plus it will handle really well.
As far as ruining your car goes, I have had my car 3 or more inches lower than stock for over two years, and i am willing to admit that it was on the cheap shit, including stock struts. I have my car in at school ( college not a half assed high school mechanics class) all the time and my ball joints, tie rod ends and everything are free of play. They aren't as stiff as they once were and bushings have gotten a little older but that is to be expected over two years of all year round driving anyway. It caused pretty little premature wear and if the drop is more subtle with proper parts, you will be fine.

Dad not noticing???
Umm just for your info... I didn't tell my dad that I dropped my CB7. At the time it was the family car and when he came home from work, that was the first thing he noticed b4 pulling up the driveway because how it sat.
ODDS ARE however, he's going to find out no matter what coz there will be that day when he takes the car out and goes up a driveway or unfamliar road and SCRAPE!
I only have Eibach sportlines and that roughly turns out to almost 2inches when the springs are "broken in" and settled. I think it was 1.8 int he front 1.5 or somethin in the rear....forgot the exact specs. Well anyways, he took it for a drive and couldn't tell a difference in ride roughness. Eibach sportlines or some Teins would be a good starter drop. The ride quality isn't much affected at all and feels great as long as ur struts are in good condition.....just be sure to cut ur bump stops a little.I need a custom turbo manifold built....
