    Ghetto Fabulous Lowering

A guy told me if i wanted to be really cheap, and hood, that I could take my car to a shop, and have them chop 1 coil of of my springs. He said that it will lower the car about an inch and a half.
    Is this true?
Problems that might come of doing this?
    Pros/cons?

    Thanks

You will ruin the compression of the spring, jeopardize the springs function, the ride will be CRAPPY, and risk breaking a spring easily.

i see.... So going the other route, the no name springs on ebay, are they any count for the most part? or just garbage? The ones i see are like 30 bucks, 40 shipping.

Back in the day I bought Suspension Tech Springs, (2" drop) and payed $100 shipped. Installed them with stock shocks, and the car looked good, and the ride felt like stock, with sharper cornering.

With no name springs your probably gonna also get crappy ride qualitity, and also you should look into replacing your shock/struts if you want to ride lower, the stock ones arent designed to handle lowering springs. Just save up and get some reputable shocks and springs, IMO

cool, but i mean, what are you getting with cheaper springs, compared to expensive ones? Is the ride better with really expensive ones? I mean, what are you getting more of when youre paying more?

Also, which creates a nicer, smoother ride, CO's, or Springs? or are they about the same?

I like the bouncy, stiff look/ride of springs, but if i get a drop, i wanna be able to adjust. Just me.

That is the springs alone, with out shipping. I bought them 4-5 years ago, so prices were a bit lower. But just the springs changed, the car drove great.

So you put those on stock struts/shocks and you didnt lose anything or fuck anything up?

Nope. Car felt like stock when cruising, and handled tight on turns. The camber was alittle off (-2°) but I changed that with this style camber kit by Revo Technica (still installed on the car) and never had any camber kit related clunking problems.
