<- 215/45/17 here and they feel so much better than 205/40...better ride and more protect for your rims..

and with a bigger sidewall (45 series) it closes the gap between the tire and fender a lil more than the small 40 series tire

if you don't have any problems with the "215"(width) depends on the rim width and offset of the rims, stay with it.. as for the second value "45"(thickness or height from the rim to the road) you can go as low as "30", i think thats the lowest that they make em. but then, ride quality would surely suck..

the lower u go the more u feel the bumbs and likely to bent or rims if u have a little more tire than the rim as more padding

Just be careful with your offset on a 215/45 tire. I have 17x7" wheels with a +40 offset and 215/45 tires, and I experienced a little rubbing when taking right hand corners at higher speeds with people in the car. I had to stiffen up my rear suspension (went from 5 to 7 on my AGX) to ensure I wouldn't rub any more.

Disclaimer: I also don't have a rear sway bar at the moment as I have an LX. I'd assume that the sway would kill a good deal of my roll stiffness, allowing me to back off on the settings. When I do my rear disc conversion and get the EX sway on, I'll play with it and update everyone.
