Ever since I had my ST sway bars, I've had a squeak in the front end. Well, "a" squeak might be a little mild....a SQUEAK every time the suspension moved. Drove me nuts, sounded like I was driving a bucket of bolts.
1. Changed out the centre bushings to graphite impregnated and greasable ones, still squeaks.
2. Changed UCA's and tie rod ends, still squeaks.
3. Changed shock/spring combo to lower, still squeaks....worse!
4. Loosened urethane end links a bit.....less squeak! For a day...
5. Got work to order me some stock rubber end links, and yanked the poly ones out...and just moved the bar back and forth in the centre bushings....SQUEEK! WTF!
Brake lines were rubbing on the centre of the sway bar, that got worse every time I got lower, as the bar rotated closer to the lines. Push and slightly bend lines away from bar....no squeaks!
Re-installed poly end links....NO squeak!
Drove home HARD from the shop...not one squeak!
