    steering wheel play.....

everytime i hit a bump or a dip at reasonable speed. my steering wheels rattles left and right. i tighten the middle bolt at the steering cuz i thought it was that and its not. could it be suspension related? like tie rod? or something give me any ideas on what it could be. thanks

I am pretty sure its the rack...I have the same problem, but have replaced everything... including the rack(but obviously it was just as bad)... it was used. The new 91 coupe I picked up last week has NO PLAY, im excited as can be!

I had the same problem on my 90 coupe. It drove me nuts, but there really wasn't anything I could do about it. The first thing I noticed when I bought my 93 was that the steering was so nice and tight! It felt so much better and still does to this day.

Check your lower ball joints... uppers might not hurt, either. They can make a huge difference.

i had that problem too. I replaced the lowerball joints and the tie rods. I haven't had a problem since.
