Speaking of, I bought my axle from autozone as well, but i threw my receipt out. I have a horrible noise from the wheel area I can feel it through my pedal, it's either my axle or something in the tranny. Only on acceleration. I'm doing a manual swap soon so I didn't really care. But it's pretty bad/annoying.
Think there's any chance they'll give me another? I have a credit card record, and I'm sure it's in their computer.

How much does your wheel/tire combo weigh? Post here!

yeah, they dont need the receipt. They like you to have it, but everything is kept in the computer. I think that pisses them off also, since I never bring the receipt in.

I just wish I could see how they "test" these before putting them back on the shelf. Talk about some bad Q/C!

The weird thing is, sometimes it'll do it worse than others. It doesnt do it on acceleration, so even though mine both have play, if it is them, its because they are out of balance. I wish I had a dyno to check it out.

So I was thinking... once upon a time, I loosened the radius rod on the passenger side. I tightened it back up to where I thought it was before. Could the caster being a little bit out of whack make crap like this?

And also when I was backing out of my driveway, in neutral, I locked up the front brakes at maybe 5mph. Just fast enough to where they would skid, and the passenger front wheel kinda skipped instead of like just dragging along the ground like it should have. Could that be a sign?

Now that I think about it, if I pull the emergency brake if its going downhill backwards slowly, as the car comes to a hault, the wheels will turn a little (front) but there are no problems at speed... vibrates but doesnt veer to one side or the other.

The toe is set pretty well, the camber is negative since I dont have a camber kit, but I am wondering if this caster could be the damn problem.

So I think I will get some tie rod ends, and then get it aligned. See where I end up from there. Damn this money pit.

Sounds kinda like what I'm going through with my car. I've had a wobble coming from the front end since I installed new UCA and Ball joints. only starts at about 60 and keeps going to 70-75. I think it's still there at higher speeds but maybe the frequncey is high enough that I don't pick it up as much. I'm going to try to get a alignment and see if that helps. After that a new steering rack to cure the lovely rattle I have going over bumps.

I think it could be my brake rotors causing the bit of wobble since they are warn on the very edge of them from rubbing on the caliper spring

its good to know that others have the same problem.

I replaced my tie rod ends to no avail, and added a bottle of Lucas power steering additive -which made the steering a little better. Its weird, cause i have the same symptoms as all you guys, and sometimes the steering feels absolutely perfect, which leads me to believe its either the p/s pump not supplying correct pressure at times or that the rack is shit

thats too bad, have you looked into the p/s pump?

the only other thing I can think of is too much play in the steering wheel shaft

I might try possibly disabling the p/s pump, to see if that has something to do with it?

only other thing i can think of is lower balljoints or the wheel bearings, assuming that tires and alignment are known to be good.

I have the same problem. The first thing I replaced was my old camber kit which ahd a lot of play in it. But now, everything is tight, alignment is within spec, and my wheels have been balance twice. Could a shaking be cause by one slightly bent rim in the rear?

Well, I dont have a PS pump... so that cant be bad for me.

Lower ball joints... possibly if they were really bad, but there should be a way to check them for play.

I would doubt that the shaking i have is from a rear tire. If its a really bad bend, then I am sure it could make it vibrate, but IMO it would feel like its coming from the rear.

When I grab the tire and try to move it, on either axis, there is no play, and the wobble/shaking def feels like its coming from the front. I'm pretty sure my rear motor mount is shot. I'm hoping that is the problem.

When I start off slow sometimes, it feels like it has "wheel hop" yet the tires arent spinning and I am not going fast at all. So maybe thats the engine wiggling around from a busted mount. Today I went up to 80 and cruised there for a second with no problems, then it came back a little.

Checked the mounts... they look good/new

I always had a brand new spare pass. axle in the garage, so I figured I would swap it out. I got ready to do it, and the new one had play already. New out of the box, it had as much play as the one on my car. WTF. So I called, and they had one in stock.

I get down there, and the new one off the shelf had a hell of a lot of play. More than my old one or the other new one. I asked him if they actually look at them or just shine them up and sell them, he says "well i guess they are all like that".

So I returned my spare axle and picked up a pair of mechanics gloves for 10bux. Got 110 back from the axle, wohoo!

Car still vibrates like a bitch, cant wait to transfer the plates from the ninja to the cbr so I can stop driving the car as much.

Well, I can rotate them... no change

I can swap them for wheels from another car .... no change

And the other accord has no problem with vibrations.

For me I think it's a motor mount. I'm hopefully going to change it this week. If it makes a difference, I'll let you know.
