It almost sounds like the tire is skipping on the pavement.

I don't know what could cause it.

see what happens when you order stuff on ebay quickly... I ordered a set for 88-89 accords. Self-pwned.

Its not the first time... when trying to get my h22 in, I ordered an ebay megan header, not realizing that the prelude si was the h23. I ended up just cutting off the downpipe flange, and welding it to the stock header I had.

Maybe they havent shipped them yet ... we'll see.

edit: emailed them.. I guess if they cant swap them out before they are sent, I'll just have some... more random parts for the garage.

OK... I think I may be making progress...

Searching, I have come up with other people with a similar problem on forums all over. I am still reading, and most of them dont have a solution yet, but hopefully I can find one soon.

Most of their vibrations started after a suspension checkup or brake work.

My calipers are brand new OEM, rotors are warped a bit, pads still have life and rear shoes are new. Maybe I can stop looking for a new car finally!

            Hey, Phillip!!!

Have you got a 1" travel plunger dial indicator, graduated in .001" increments? Or maybe know someone that does have one? An automotive machinist should have one, probably..... Even though your rotors look smooth, you'd be amazed at the runout an indicator will show that ya have.....

I know we're not talking "apples-to-apples" here, but the same thing happened to my wife's Honda car. Did a brake job, and had rotors turned. After a few weeks, it developed a shudder every time you'd stop. At first, we just thought it was our wonderful Clackamas county roads.... Wound up replacing the rotors, and the problem went away.
could be alignment. if no one said that... my 2000 celica when i had it used ot shake and shimmy around 55 - 65 so i used to like driving faster than that so it went away haha cause they won't do 2 wheel alignments around here. which sucks cause you can but a car new and a decade later may still not need a rear end alignment. and it sucks cause that's how they make money cause places will never even touch the rear end. i know pep boys has not even checked the rear end of some cars that come in
and someone with a similar shimmy at the same speeds...
Finally got off my lazy arse and ordered some hub centric rings just for the hail of it. Got them in and they are plastic. Figured it was still worth a shot, and what do you know? they worked

fix them brakes. I found it interesting how that person was talking about rotors being warped without even feeling them while braking.

you mean if you get on them really hard and you cant feel them? If so.. its true. If you can threshold brake with the warped rotors, there will be no vibration. But, if you arent all into it, the vibration is there. seems kinda weird, but it works... mine are pretty bad, but if I brake really hard, they dont shimmy at all.

mine used to be like that as well if you were hard on them it would go away, but with daily driving with them like that i think it attributed to my P/S going bad. What i mean is that your rotors can be out but you wont even feel it under daily driving.

Also, im not entirely sold on the idea of hubcentric rings because, for one, most of us have lock nuts of some sort that will throw the weight off to a degree.

yeah, I figured the rings wont do anything, especially since I have stock wheels. BUT for 12.50 shipped, cant really complain.

                      Oh shit.

Stock wheels already are hubcentric. Rings won't fit anywhere.

                        lmao.. oh well

sure someone can use them. or maybe i'll have to get wheels to use them on

I was kinda trying to figure out where they would go, and what they would do. Now it makes sense though on an aftermarket wheel.

Lets see, last night I was getting on the freeway accelerating at about 60 there was that hint of vibration for about three seconds. It went away pretty quickly, about 6 minutes later big vibrations coming from the front left of the car. I figured that it was a flat tire so i got off the interstate and decided to inspect it. Looked at it , not flat just a little low on air. Get back in the car, clutch engaged nothing happens. So I thought back and figured that the clutch was still engaging, but there isnt any movement. What could it be, i remembered that when my intermediate shaft dislodged itself the diff would sent any available torque to the wheel with the least resistance. so i began to jack the car up and as i looked under the car i was checking the intermediate shaft and i pulled myself up on the wheel and it rotated. Hmmmm.... I rotated it again, the driveshaft did not rotate. I was baffled... I put my hand back there and somehow the outer cv joint completely disintegrated. But it never made the typical clicking that CV joints make, but after I got it replaced the slight vibration that was there at interstate speed is completely gone. And I was researching last night and worn CV joints can cause vibrations at freeway speeds.

Alignment is as good as it will get without camber kits.

Caster is good, toe is at zero

but camber is at -2 on driver side, and -3 on passenger side. Never hit anything, so I am not sure why its different, its lowered the same.

                                But vibration is still there.

Of course, pulling into the driveway, my driver window wont go up for some reason.

Looks like the car is going up for sale, hopefully someone will want it.
