    Factory Ride Height

93' EX sedan. Anyone know the specs on the original ride height? And where do you measure? My current front wheel to fender gap is like 4 inches and that can't be right. On my 90 LX Sedan the gap is 2.5 inches and that atleast looks right compared to the back unlike the 93".

also springs sag over a period of time and blown shocks do not help with this...

WHOHA! for the early risers. The 93' is in storage so I will have to measure it later today. As a referance I measured the 90'. I measured the bottom of the fender behind the front wheel and the bottom of the rocker panel in front of the back wheel (above the rocker panel plastic piece)

        10 inches in the front
        11 inches in the back

The shocks feel real solid on the 93' I will take measurements tonight.

The best place to measure is from the fender to the middle of the wheel. Stock I think my car was at about 15-16" all around...now I think it's at about 12" all around.

I measured the same locations on the 93'

            10.25 front
            10.75 rear

So the front is higher and the back is lower than on the 90'...

I have owned the two of them for only a short time. I haven't done any suspension changes on either one of these vehicles and I don't know what has been done in the past. I am assuming that they are both on the original factory parts. The one I am most concerned about is the 93 and that's the one that seems the most wrong.

Anyone have information that would tell me differant?

Wait, where are you measuring from? Like I said, from the bottom of the fender to the middle of the wheel for a stock CB goes from 15-17". My car is about 3" lower than that all around. You have any pictures of your car?

                Where I measured

Along the rocker panels are a black plastic piece that goes fron behind the front wheel to the front of of the back wheel. Just above that at the back of the front wheel well opening and the front of the back wheel well opening.

I will measure from there tomorrow when I put the Yukon back into storage (same place as the car).

Measured from center of wheel to bottom of fender

I'm a day late with these numbers, but here they are.

                    90' LX 2DR
                    front left 15"
                    front right 15"
                    rear left 14 11/16"
                    rear right 15"
This car not only looks right, but measures out good except for the rear drivers side is a little low (1/4"), not bad.

                    93' EX 4DR
                    front left 15 5/8"
                    front right 15 3/8"
                    rear left 14 7/8"
                    rear right 15 1/8"
So when I am looking at the drivers side there is a full 3/4" differance, and on the passanger side the differance is only 1/4".

The gas tank is full on the 93', and near full on the 90'. (If that would make any differance.

                    OPINIONS? /THOUGHTS?/ YOUR MEASUREMENTS?

I'll measure mine today, just for kicks. My back end is noticeably higher now with 1. brand new shocks and 2. NO gas...I'll try and take measurements before and after I fill up. I know right now my fender-to-axle heights are around 12", if that gives any idea of my ride height...well, at least in the front. I'm REALLY considering chopping a coil in the back to set everything right....

What happens if you use different brands of springs in the front and the back to get rid of the ride differance because if you have adjustable springs you are changing the spring rate from the front to the back anyway to even them out so they look the same.

I've always measured from the bottom of the rim to the fender lip, but from Centre Wheel to fender lip will suffice.
