Tein Spring Install Problem

alright everyone. ive got something for you, i dont know what the FUCK is going on. i got some 'lowering springs' for my cb7 the other day. this evening ive been installing them. so i get the rear ones done right, i set the car back down, and what the fuck, no drop. the car sits two inches higher. figure that one out. the springs are tein. my friend insisted that i put the bigger springs in the rear (yeah it WAS my friend, hes the one who thinks hes mechanically inclined, i know for a fact i'm NOT), so i was like what the fuck, i dont know what im doing. and there it sits, with a lift. so what the fuck is going on. are the smaller springs supposed to be in the rear or is this 'right'. WTF. well if the smaller springs go in the rear, im burning someones truck to the ground tomorrow.

and yeah, if someone can tell me what the fuck is happening it would be nice.

well first thing springs have to settle, but 2 inches higher doens't sound right...

are you sure you put the rear ones on the back of the car? the front springs have to hold more weight so that might be a possibility?

well the problem is I dont know which ones are front and rear.... the smaller spring didnt fit over the strut.. so the bigger springs got stuck in the rear... i thought it was wrong too but what do i know... i emphasize, i dont know what the fawk i am doing.

The Tighter Taller Springs Go in The Front Cause the drop is the same all around approx so u figure more weight more substantial spring so hope this helps and YES Let them settle before deciding not enough drop ok l8ter

usually it says R (for rear) or F (for front) after the code on the springs. at least it does on the H&R springs that i have seen

i have a feeling that the tall ones go int he rear...mine are tall as fuck but the top coils squish down...

Yeah, rear ones are the taller ones. Did you make sure to completely seat the springs in the perches? You've just gotta turn them until they sit completely in the top and bottom "grooves".

Can you find any model numbers on the shocks? And were these previously on a car or new?

I'm just using the stock struts.

Brand new springs.

Ive got the serial numbers of the front/rear springs off Teins website (something I should have already done). But yeah. I can't do shit, due to the fact my dad to my keys, so I have no way of getting at the car now. I hate living at home.

I got the springs to sit properly any everything, BUT I didn't compress them when I was putting them back in, I didn't have to, but I am wondering if I should? And when I was putting the strut back on, I had to undo the upper control arm, or the bottom of the strut wouldnt line up Ive got some DIY instructions and they have helped a LOT but I'm having my own strange situation.

Weird...

My Tanabe DF210s have a bigger, wider spring in the back and a shorter, narrower spring in the front. The stock springs are the same...

I guess just make sure everything is lined up and give it time to settle. (hint, take some pics too...)
