    Sway Bars

    Sway Bars
A sway bar connects opposite (left/right) wheels together through short lever arms. A sway bar increases the suspension's roll stiffness, its resistance to body roll in turns.

An anti-roll bar has a spring rate based on the length, diameter, and build of the torsion bar and the geometry of its mounting points. Its principal effect is to resist roll towards the outside of a turn, keeping the body relatively flat.

Thanks, well the individual threads will not be stickied, as there will be quite a few of them. The suspension Index is stickied, and will have direct links to all of them so they are easy to find.

      Suspension Thread Index

edit: and by no way are they ever finished, I will keep updating them as more threads are found, I am trying to get a basic one started for all of the ones on the index first.

On autozones shopping it says 25mm for all for the front.

For rear it has 13mm and 14mm.

I knew I should have bought that dang micrometer.

i know there's a size difference between lx and ex because hondaautomotiveparts has two different part numbers

they list the correct sizes for the 5th gen models but don't list any sizes for 4th gen...blah

Easy get a mm open ended wrench and put it up to a ex or lx swaybar. Just try different sizes until you find the one that fits. Voila now you know the size of every sway bar. lol

It seems like getting the thickest rear swaybar would be best, which is ST with its 27/20 mm bar. ( does this mean its a 27 mm or 20 mm bar?). I've heard that the Progess rear is a lot better tho

the 27 is the front, the 20 is the back...Actually the exact mesasurement of the rear is 20.637 mm. The progress rear sway is 21 mm so not that much different. Either one will make a big difference over the ex one or even a car that never had one!

And as for the front, I think the verdict is sticking with the stock sway bar is best right? I'll probably buy new endlinks, but other than that if you get a thick front bar it increases your oversteer right?

A thicker front bar will increase understeer (bad). As I said.. if the rest of your suspension.. and mainly tires can handle it, then it wont hurt as much. But street tires, it will just add understeer.

the thicker rear sway will add oversteer. Thus making the car more neutral since stock cb7s have too much understeer(plowing)
