Also to keep in mind is that with lowered cars where the spring rate is increased, the sway bars actually dont' need to be as strong to level the car. So what works on a stock car (like the vigor) would work even more effectively on a lowered car.

All that said, more stiffness in the rear is probably best, as we dont here a whole ton of people complaining of excessive oversteer with the stiff rear bars.

Use the progrses is $80US shipped, whereas the yunkyard is about 20-30US (my wreckers are scum.
YES! I went from the stock wagon rear sway (~15mm as Night Wolf said) to the progress and felt a great difference. It's not mind blowing, but it is certainly a great upgrade over the stock. Also, remember that if you use the junkyard swaybar you are going to be using old, worn out bushings. Honestly, I think the bushings are just as important as what bar you have. If you throw on a junkyard bar with junkyard bushings you'll feel something, but nothing like what you would feel from a brand new bar with brand new bushings.

I have read alot of threads on sway bars and have not seen anyone mention 1st gen Acura CL sway bars. I picked up a rear one at a jy and it is 16mm just like the Vigor. I also ran part numbers and the rear sway bar for the Vigor and the 1st gen TL are the same. So there are 2 more options when hunting for a cheap junk yard upgrade.

This is a great thread, I'm glad to see it brought back. That's great though having 2 more possible donor cars to pick from. The junk yards around me are running out of CBs. They had like 4 or 5 on their entire lot.

I got the Vigor 16mm bar on my wagon, greatly improved the handling. Car stays planted tho corners now. Decent upgrade for the $10 i spent on it. Make sure you get the vigor brackets and clamps and bushings with it too, they are different but will bolt to the Accord's subframe.

Oh if you have an LX you will not have a rear sway or the holes to mount one. I forgot that only LX wagons have factory rear sway bar

I have a Progress rear with OEM front, and it balances the car beautifully. Having a car with such great forward-biased weight distribution, this makes sense. I don't think an upgraded front sway is necessary, but if so, then something mild, such as a CD EX front sway, on the rare Intrax sway. I feel that a Suspension Techniques front sway would be too stiff and induce the understeer that the Progress rear bar eliminates. Stiff poly or thermoplastic bushings on the stock front sway should be adequate.

i have the front S/T sway and the Progress rear. i like the way both feel. i really think it depends on the driver. if her feels the front stick or the back slides or vice versa then go with a thicker rear and a stock front or whatever. u get my point?

Sorry, this is not correct. I posted this on another thread.

The Vigor brackets WILL NOT work on a CB7 rear crossmember. They are too long. I used the stock brackets off of my EX rear sway bar. I bought bushings for the CD5 (p/n 52315-SR3-900). They are the same outer diameter as the ones for the CB7 but they are 15mm instead of 14mm inner diameter. I used a barrel sander bit in a Dremel tool to enlarge the bushing to the needed 16mm. The heat from this process made the rubber a little sticky, so I used a little bearing grease on it when I installed the bar. After the bushing modification, the rest is really straight forward.
                          I hope this helps.

Wait there is no drilling required for a ST rear sway bar. Correct

And drilling is required for an Progress Rear sway bar
