The sprint blues will be fine.. they ride slightly stiffer than sportlines, but still comfortable..
From my personal experience:
I put the spring blues on my friend's 92 LX.. His cheap monroe sensatracs have not blown out yet.. keep in mind the shocks have seen 70k mi. 50 of which is lowered.
From my source SpeedAlliance. (where i get parts from). the DF210 is the cheapest spring i can get, lol. They get the best discounts on tanabe springs. also readily available.. sorry glory.. they arent that rare..
My roomate's had the DF210's on his prelude. worked fine with stock shocks. They were fine.. the drop was about 1.8" He ended up switching to Neuspeed Race springs on AGX shocks.
My cousin had DF210's on her integra as well on stock shocks.. one of her's blew after 20k mi of ignorant driving (meaning no slowing for speedbumps, pretending potholes didnt exist). She has tokico blues in her car now.. and it drives real nice..
DF210's are very streetable and comfortable. but not the stiffest spring out there. What i dont like about them is the top of the springs are not tapered (not that big of a deal), but I was hoping that a company like tanabe would have gone through that slight bit of effort to taper the top of the spring so it would sit a little better.
Sprint, contrary to a lot of people's opinions provide a good balance. I used them on a 240sx i owned before, and they rode nice.. not too stiff, not too soft. I rode in my friends accord, and the ride was actually smooth and the car handled better than when he had the tein S-techs on his car..
What I've had on my car (96 accord)
tein s-techs, cut supension techniques speedtech, and right now, cut Jamex springs.
My take on the stechs is that it doesnt really get rid of wheel gap much and the spring rates are near stock.. The car doesn't drop nearly as much as tein claims. Same thoughts on the Eibach pro-kits (which i had on my 240sx).
The suspension techniques springs were ok.. considering they were cut (before i got them) spring rates are probably slightly softer than the sprints though.
The Jamex springs i have now felt about the same as the sprints, but before they were cut.. the car sat about as tall as my car lowered on stechs. The car rides ok didnt really notice a difference after cutting the springs.
I'm using stock replacement monroe shocks as well. It's handling the springs ok so far.. but seems like the fronts are starting to give... but as far as what works w/ stock shocks.. Stech/sprints/DF210 is your best bet.. just depends how you want the ride/drop to be.
My next setup is probably ground controls w/ kyb shocks.. the ground controls im planning to get is 250/200 so that should work with stock shocks (although its slightly pushing it). My car is a daily driven street car, so i do not need anything extremely stiff.
I have a friend who runs 12 kg/mm F and 10 kg/mm rear (672/560.. full on coilovers) on his 240sx.. It rides like a go kart, and I coulda sworn in pinched a nerve the last time I drove it.. I would say anything over 450-475 is too much for the street.Last edited by Grant8311; 01-14-2006, 04:32 AM.
