Tein S-Tech springs, or something else?

    Hey guys,

I'm looking to get some springs so I can drop my car next spring, once I put in my 17" rims. I don't want a huge drop; just one that could improve handling a bit, as well as eliminate some of that big wheel-gap. I'm looking for some springs that can be used with stock shocks, although I know it would be better to get some aftermarket ones also. I just don't have the budget for that right away; but I might consider getting some depending on the shape of my Accord.

The S-Tech's claims to give a 2.1" drop on the front, and 1.7" in the rear. I heard it's best not to go over a 2" drop when using OEM shocks. I just wanted to get your opinions on it (I've tried searching, didn't find that many). How's the ride quality?

I've also read that the eibach springs are good with OEM shocks (the ones that drop 1.6"?), and offer a good ride.

Anyways, I'm hoping to get opinions on these springs, or any other suggestions. Hopefully also some pics to see if the drop is sufficient.

Again, I'm only looking to improve the handling a bit, as well as give it a small esthetic drop when I put my rims on. I don't take my Accord to the track or anything like that, so I'm not looking for ultimate performance.

    Thanks.

anytime you drop the vehicle using aftermarket springs, aftermarket/performance shocks/struts is always recommended. reason being is coz you will blow out the factory shocks/struts due to the fact they are NOT made to be compressed on lowered springs. when you get a chance, check out this thread:

Thanks for the info. I would want to get shocks, but I don't know if my budget would permit that right now. Actually, it isn't that bad, now that I've done a quick ebay search for KYB shocks.

I know it's not advisable, but are there people running with OEM shocks? I would want to replace them after.

Anyways, for the kind of drop/ride I'm looking, which springs would be good?

save up for the shock/spring upgrade. do it right the first time and you'll end up saving $$$ on labor charges. a popular drop would be a sport drop(anywhere from 1.5 -1.75in.) go with either eibach, neuspeed, or tein for these applications.

After looking at prices around on the net, it isn't as bad as i thought to replace all of it.

            How are KYB GR-2 shocks?

I have all winter, and a Christmas gift, so I could probably treat myself to a good suspension.

KYB GR-2s are OEM replacement shocks; i recommend tokico HP(blues). they are made for lowered vehicles, and it will also be a comfortable ride.

                  1. do it right the 1st time.

                  2. you really need to read the thread that was already quoted for you. these questions have been asked before, and it's no different now.
