    Coilovers?

Well i live in nebraska so we get a fair amount of snow in the winter. I have my street performance tires on rims and then snow tires on the stock black rims with hub caps. For coilovers i can adjust the ride height of my car but my question is install difficulty? range of the coilovers? struts and any other things recommended? reasonable price? any other information about these will b greatfully helpful. any other way to adjust the ride height with the ease of coilovers using something else?
    thanx

the install is very easy and straight forward.....the first time will take u around 3 hrs or more if u r a beginner at this stuff. yes the coilovers u can adjust. they are usually a 0-4in or 0-3in adjustable. although your stock struts will last u along long long time, i would recommend getting new struts to ease up on the ride quality. now for struts, if u plan on dropping it 0-2.5in get some kyb agx's or koni's. for 2.5+in drop go with kyb gr-2...i know they are basically oem replacements but they work fantastic for extreme drops. when u r that low, the suspension travel is little to none so go with the cheaper of the struts so if u ever do blow a strut (which i haven't in over 40k miles on NH roads), it is relatively cheap to replace. new strut mounts are also recommended. a camber kit would be helpful in a drop of 2in or more. also, even with a severe drop, your options are limited to the size/offset off your rims/tires. some people cannot get a camber kit bc the offset of their rims doesn't allow them to bc of rubbing the fenders with the tires. so drop the car, then see if u have any clearance issues or rubbing issues then go for a camber kit if u so choose to. pricing is very reasonable. coilovers=200-300. struts=240-upwards of 600+ depending on the route u go. strut mount= like 40 for the entire set and the camber kit will range. i hope this helps and i wish ya luck. if u have any others questions feel free to ask.

4.xx in drop on skunk2's, gr-2 struts, with kyb strut mounts, no camber kit=bad tire wear/replacement only after 10,000miles then again i can't even have the tires aligned bc of rubbing even with the fenders rolled lol

Make sure you coat the threads of your coils with antiseize or equivalent, because if you're using the coils to raise your car in the winter, then you need the threads to be clean. Very often, especially with cheap coils, the salt will corrode the threads, locking them into place. This definitely happened to my friend, and is something that should be avoided if at all possible. 5 minutes of prepping for the winter will save a lot of hassles in the long run.
