If you wanna go 'inexpensive', here's a list of springs I recommend: Sprint 2.5", Tanabe DF210, Tein S-Tech, ST Speedtech, H&R/Neuspeed Sport. I'm pretty sure you can run them on stock shocks. Other than that, you get what you pay for...

You are kind of implying that you only want the springs without the shocks (Not recommended) If you want something decent, get some springs and shocks that have very similiar rates. If you want something that rides excellent get yourself some coilovers. Just remember you get what you pay for and going cheap on the suspension will make you hate your car.

P.S. Do not cut your springs, your car will even bounce on flat roads.

I went the somewhat cheap route,

        KYB-GR2 Struts - 150
        H&R Springs (1.8 and 1.7 in. drop) - 150
        SPC Camber Kit - 159

Once again, this is the cheap route.

I'm dropped 2.5" on stock shocks; kmart is dropped 3.0"+ on stock shocks; it's all really just in the spring rates, how you drive and how the roads are in your 'hood. If the spring rates are close to stock you really have nothing to worry about besides bottoming out, camber, and the UCA's clearance...if your shocks are good you can drop it and for a few months until you get GR-2s or whatever...but it's def. not as bad as people say it is, as long as it's not permanent. Plus doing your own install is not that bad; I can do mine alone in ~6 hours or so.

IMO if you dont have the money to do it right, dont do it. Buy the shocks, let them sit, then buy the shocks, install them both. Otherwise you are doing the job twice and you can possible mess up the suspension system, plus if you are doing this right you will have to get your car aligned twice.

Amen, if u only want a small drop then springs r the best route...also, coilovers r not bad at all... even on stock springs. and my gr2 r heaven. kyb agx is overkill. i had agx for a while and it was no better than my gr2...in fact the gr2's i like way more. i have my car dropped 4.4in now on gr2 and i love it.and install is easy as pie. whole thing done in under 2.5hrs....by myself.

Installs are easy...seriously like 4-5 bolts a shock and some maneuvering to get them out. All I have are a jack+stands, a ratchet set, matching wrenches and a breaker bar. $60-70 in tools saves me hundreds on labor.

actually with those, you can get away with stock shocks. but they arent gonna lower you car much anyways, which is why.

i dont understand how you guys are dropping so much on stock shocks. theyre for sure blown, and sleeves suck ass, i dont care what brand they are. if you must get something and cant afford coilovers, get a nice set of springs. i had speedtechs on stocks and they rode fine... but anything more than a 2/2.5" drop on stocks might cause problems. and you cant get springs that low with stockish springrates, that would defeat the purpose of them... youre just gonna be smackin the arm constantly.

the lower you go, the stiffer theyre gonna get. and gr2's and agx arent meant to be dumped on. if you wanna go real low properly get a set of koni's or a REAL suspension system.

tein ss all the way. You dont want to short cut on the suspension. I bought the dropzone shock and coilover for 300 and now I am regretting it. Save your lunch money and get tein.
