i need an opinion on shock and springs

my body offered me KYB GR2 shocks with Sprint lowering springs. He had never used them. so my question is : does anyone know how they will work, i know that those shocks are pretty nice, but i am not sure about the springs.thanks

Do a search on the struts (what you call shocks) You will find loads of information. I just bought 4 brand new ones from a guy for 150 bux. For the springs, do something nicer then sprint springs. I would go with either H&R's or Eibach. Also factor in a camber kit and install. You are good to go!

Springs are springs...there are a lot of people with the Sprints here and they love them. Just throw them on and get an alignment.

Horseshit. I'm sorry but that is just total BS. There is a lot to do with ride quality, spring rates, R&D, and even material and manufacturing quality. You always ALWAYS get what you pay for with suspension setups unless its stolen or friend prices.

I wouldn't recommend Sprint springs. Go with a better company like H&R or Eibach. And definately invest in a camber kit and alignment immediately after. Tires are far more expensive than good suspension components.

My fault, I should have elaborated...I'm a spring rate freak, I even started a thread listing all the known springrates of popular springs for our cars. However, in regards to what I said I stand by it- springs are springs. The Sprints have a soft enough rate that they have a near-stock ride. How that makes them 'worse' or 'better' than any other brand is beyond me, as I have yet to hear anyone speak neutrally, let alone negatively about Sprint springs. Yes, they settle a little lower but ultimately they're still not terrible springs.

Springs are springs...the factor that determines ride is rate of each spring. The higher the rate the stiffer the ride, and Sprints have a low rate...what more is there to it?

I've had a set a sprint springs that have been used daily for 7 years and there awsome. People are biased do your research and go with what your comfortable with. People are biased in that they know mostly what they here. I love the springs they ride nice handle nice and my car looks good and i didnt break the bank

:edit: i also forgot to say i have been on stock struts the whole time. I have KYB AGX's waiting for install which is stalled waiting for H&R race springs
