the size of the ex is seriously a joke, i could press on it and it would flex as opposed to me trying to bend the progress one and it wouldnt even buldge.
    I <3 G60.

0.5mm Oversized Stainless valves and bronze guides available. Pm me please.

I cant remember what kind of car it was, i know it was an suv, but the rear sway, i almost bent it when i went to grab onto it while working on it. i think it was a ford, go figure.

as far as just using tape, that was my original thought, but it wont make much of a difference. You can get one of the muffler patch things for like 3 bux at the auto store, and they come w/like 2 feet of that tape stuff.

Ya the one on the Ex is pretty weak. When I installed my new one and had the stock one off i ran out of time and had to go to work, i was driving around without a sway, to be honest i didn't notice that much difference, then with my progress sway im like... whoa.
PM me if you found this!!

Ok I'm gonna bring this thread back from the dead..Hehehe

Long story short, I installed a stock EX-R rear sway bar when I first got my car a loong time ago...And...well, 2 days after I got my car lowered last month, the right side mount of the sway bar actually snapped off on me My fault, I pushed the car too hard..hehehe anyways, I'm seriously thinking of getting the Progress rear sway bar, since I've only heard good things about it...The only thing that's holding me back is the drilling part...To be honest, I haven't been that good at drilling metal parts..hehe how thick is that crossmember n e wayz? Some ppl tell me that the drilling part is a PITA..Any input on this?

I'm guessing that when you buy the sway bar, it will come with some type of instructions on how to install it?? Seems like there's a lot of bolts and nuts included in the kit...hehe jus curious...I wanna make sure I install it properly when I get it..

Any advice or opinions would be highly appreciated...Thanks guys...

                  Ronald

All mounting hardware that you need is in the kit. As far as drilling, I would say the metal is prolly about 1/4 inch.. nothing much. Mine took quite a while because the only drill bit that i had at the time that was big enough was dull as anything, so it didnt want to start a hole.

There arent "exact" places to drill the holes either, you just try to get both of them to fit and be in the same place on either side of the car. I didnt even take off the wheels to install mine, would have been a little easier but not too much.

i think the hardest part about doing this install is drilling for the brackets and mounting the endlinks. the problem that i had was i installed rear disc brakes and stain-less steel brake lines so; i had to move the line around so the bracket could be flush with the trailing arm thats all

i had to use three different sized drill bits and a weak ass 12volt cordless drill.
but eventually ig ot thru it and the hawt metal shavings burnt my arm, lol.

Is there a big difference between the ST sway bar or Progress sway bar? The ST one bolts right up, and if there's no difference, I'd probably save myself some headache and get it.

I do beleive the ST bolts right up...

But the progress needs 4 holes to be drilled.

The extra work IS SOO worth it. This keeps the sway bar "grounded" to the car just like the stock one in front. Without that, essentially you are just putting a bar between the wheels, which wont do all that much.

                                Lol.
The ST bar is properly located to the chassis, just like the front bar.

What bar are *you* thinking of?
