Has anybody ever thought of doing this? Would there be anyadvantages/disadvantages? I was watching a movie of some JGTC cars and they all run pretty much single lug or spindle mount rims. I tried searching and couldn't find anything, but I am interested if it is possible. Forgive me if I am f@#$ing retarded.

hubs, rotors, axles... and some other things i'm missing... all would need to be sourced... and that in and of itself would likely be quite expensive.
a 4 lug 17 inch volk te37 brand new is about $400 per wheel (if not more). what would you think the cost of a one lug wheel (which are magnesium and forged) be? i'd imagine that alone would be out of your price range.

Unless you are very rich and have cash to blow....I don't see this happening. There would be lots of custom work needed and you can't get the parts just off the shelf.

my friend and i are soon doing a single lug converison on his 240. if you think about it, a single lug is a great way to ensure safety of your wheels. first of all, whos going to have a single lug nut remover, second, if someone does jack your wheels, what are they going to do with them. i mean, whos gunna have a single lug, and wouldnt you notice if someone else put them on their car in the off chance they had a single lug conversion?

actually...as far as i know...i think the 200 something or 500 something spoke rims are single nut...i use to have these on my suburban (uncle did it hes thugged out)...anyways...and i think wut he had to do was put an adaptor its kinda like a spacer it holds on to the lugs and there one lug in the middle...the rims will pop out..but thats how they are suppose to be...a few months a go i saw some kid having thos rims but like 14 inchers the and was bouncing around in his cb7..i would guess its the same thing... im pretty sure this was the set up cus there is no way in hell these rims are placed on the cars using the 5 lugs it came with...there was a big nut in the middle of the rim though...u can just use any monkey wrench to turn it...Last edited by nghtrydr23; 05-10-2005, 02:01 AM.So SIIC...
