Best place to buy ball joints?

Does anyone know the cheapest place to get new balljoints? All four fronts and two rears? Just wondering if there is a better price than TAS auto, which is $180 for four upper control arms and lower ball joints.

Honda. You want quality in those areas. Moog is another option, which I get on amazon.

Id buy Moog in person or OEM online. Ive bought some stuff on ebay, moog or raybestos and the piece wouldn't have any identifying marks, maybe the box.. or a white box in other situations. at the end of the day they got installed because its a MAJOR pain to deal with online vendors and shipping, especially when time is of the essence..

I got my Moog UCAs off eBay for $70 shipped and OEM LBJs from Majestic Honda ( www.Hondaautomotiveparts.com ) for $48 shipped.

            Moog works well. www.rockauto.com

and use this 5% (entire order) Discount Code: 18D0137C2225
            Expires: 11/12/2013.

I'm guessing the kit is fine but the TASauto kit just says aftermarket stock replacement.

I recently bought some moog suspension parts from rockauto.

              2 UCA's
              2 Outer end tie rods
The two UCA's are different. One of the arm is black, and the other is silver. One's ball joint has a longer stud, and the other had a shorter one and also seemed like the ball joint itself was smaller.

The two tie rods were different as well. One was ready to put on that one was silver, the other one was black and was a "refill-able grease" tie rod.

I was somewhat disappointed as to why all my parts looked different from each other. I am not sure if I will be shopping at rockauto anymore due to this..

              Part #'s
              UCA's
              - RK9816
              - RK9815

              Tie Rods
              - ES3153
              - ES3154

What am I trying to say?
              - Why would rock auto send me this stuff and tell me it matches the model number or that it is the correct one I bought? Why did Moog make one tie rod not refillable and decide to make the other one refillable? Why is the colors different between the upper control arms from where I circled them?

Most if not all the time a pair, a set of parts usually looks the same just for opposite sides. On top of that both tie rod ends plastic packages that were containing them were already opened. One of the UCA's have some chips on the paint already, seems as if it were already used once. Out of all the time I have shopped with rock auto this time has been a big surprise for me.

vex, do you have pics of the boxes the tie rod ends came in ?

                and

did you receive all the parts in one shipment or multiple shipments?

rockauto is more of a clearinghouse for auto part stores and warehouses, that is why they can offer better prices than other outlets.

i know this because the warehouse (WAW) I used to work for does Rockauto.

before i forget, it also comes down to suppliers to brand name producers like Moog

Thats what I was talking about above. The factories that punch out these parts check the specs, the fails go into a bin and are liquidated as whitebox. even discounted "premium" parts can be the ones that arent to spec, thus the discount. Id be leary about these deals unless you like repeat business from customers/or dont have the cash. even the parts stores white boxes are usually no name. Basically if you want quality parts go OEM or buy Moog in person and check the parts before you leave.

I would check into autozone. Their quality has really improved a great deal in recent months. The balljoint boots are OEM like now and the bushings use metric fasteners instead of sae . Also they run 56.99 a side with a lifetime warranty . so if you ever have an issue with a boot tearing, take it back and they'll give you a new control arm no questions asked. Imuch prefer dealing local since the turn around time to get the parts warranteed out is a simple drive to the store vs. having to mail it ba and wait a couple weeks .

Autozone along with Pep Boys are a "reboxer" along with the name brands. But their warranty is good as I have experienced, just make sure you keep your original receipts

everything is by phone number now. I've never had to bring in a receipt.

doesnt anyone use carquest for their parts? they used to have red and blue boxes, blue being premium. I had to urgently buy a new upper control arm because the no name online one acquired failed horribly ~6mo later, anyway it was 89.99 with the work discount, put it in and have had no problems, except it did squeak on exceptionally cold winter days. Carquest is my employers main souce of parts and we do everything, so Ive looked and all the parts albeit made in china (what isnt nowaays) is primo. most of rge time its house brand but on occasion moog parts will arrive too, and just looking at them you can tell theyre moog, quality looking rubber, plated parts. And we dont have redos on suspension parts, sometimes wheel bearings and most of the time theyre timken boxed...
