HSD coilovers?

Actually majority of the full coilover set ups do that. Tien, Type One and Two, D2, Megan Racing EZ Streets, and BC Racing.

Black Works = BWR... see my previous comment. I wouldn't touch that crap with someone else's 10 foot pole! BWR, D2, Omnipower, K-sport, and a few others have such well-documented reputations for breaking across multiple platforms (some within our own community) that they would be an absolutely idiotic purchase.

If you want a true performance setup, look to see what the professionally raced CD Accords were using back in the day. See if any of those products are still made. Chances are, anything used by pros even 15 years ago will be superior to the cookie-cutter designs that most of the systems we have today are.

Think about it... most of these companies make suspension components for damn near every inexpensive popularly modified car on the road. How many of them have done any real track testing on EVERY system they design for every single model? Honestly, I doubt even a single one of them has done serious track testing for the CB chassis. Most of them aren't even designed with the CB in mind... they're mostly just trickle-down designs from the CD chassis!
F&F is the only company I'm aware of that did real-life testing of their coilovers (the Type 2, anyway) on a modified CB7... stickydiljoe's car, in fact.

Ya, i hear ya. I was just being kind. After reading for quite some time, I've stumbled accord AMRs. What's funny is that for the cb7 application they have www.cb7tuner.com listed for the website for cb7s.

That $1500 pricetag suggests quality, much more so than the $800 and less options we have. Not that a more expensive product is necessarily better, but you definitely don't stay in business for long with a high pricetag and inferior products. Assembled in the US is good (note that it doesn't say manufactured in the US...)
5 years in business... makes you wonder if they'll still be around for another 5 years to honor that lifetime warranty! The guy owned a CB7, but that's all his "expertise" seems to be.
Not to bash them. I haven't heard any bad (haven't heard anything at all, in fact...) so they may be very good units. I'd be more interested in that than I would any of those cheaper brands I listed in my last post, for sure!

Honestly, I don't see the point of coilovers. If you don't have the need, knowledge, or tools to set them properly, then they're a waste. I much prefer simple shocks and springs that are properly matched to each other. Let the engineers do all the setting up! If I went for height adjustment reasons only, I'd just get some Koni Yellows and Ground Control sleeves. That setup is better than the majority of the coilovers on the market for our cars anyway... certainly better than anything in a similar price range, I'd say.

My point is to lower the car to a specific drop, plus the advantages of a superior shock setup. I will probably end up with a set of FnFs in the end.


BTW, it is confirmed. HSD's do NOT make coilovers for cb7s. Source comes from HSD themselves.

That sucks major. I watched the video and from the looks of it would be a good set up to have (I like the camber adjustment part the most). I guess I will be sticking with with my Koni's and KYB's (hopefully with GC on the Koni's in the future).
