A dumped car cant be too well cared for if its frame bolts and under carriage is all scraped up. Its terrible enough that most newer cars dont have undercoating and whatever is the has been scraped away already.
Being low is nice and giving the car a great stance is great. Being dumped and daily driving it is stupid(imho). But there are people who dont live in pothole infested neighborhoods and that have skill to maneuver the ir car in order to get around. Those are the people who dont race around like asshats. I cant see myself laying frame on the ground knowing that one day my car may snap in half while driving

There are to many variables to say a dumped car is stupid and dangerous, including but not limited to type of car, where the person lives, how the person drives, type of suspension. I drove my car daily pretty damn low, low enough to throw sparks over some bumps. But I haven't ground down anything important. Never broken anything other than fouling out my o2 sensor twice (that also goes for my past three minitrucks). But the argument can go both ways. Does your pickup truck really need to be 8ft high off the ground? It all comes down to personal opinion either way.

^ completely agree.... my coworkers truck could literal clean run over my car like a monster truck and not get damaged ... i actually love that truck...its a 1959 Chevy apachy (tow mater from cars) ... its all about personal preference...

Assuming we're talking about street driven cars and not show cars: I'm with tommi, this article is almost redundant in its pointlessness. Kojima's just spouting out the same things we hear time and again from anyone who doesn't like the stance scene. I realize most people lack it, but the conseqences are simple common sense. If you bring moving parts that close together, they're going to collide. Idiots aren't going away, they're an unfortunate fact of our society and are in the majority.

That article should really be about extreme lowering not about stance. Even though stance goes hand and hand with lowering, lowering does not go hand in hand with stance.

Regardless, go cry about the shit somewhere else. Cats have been lowering there shit for decades. Fucked up oil pans and scraped up exhausts, its all part of the game. Shit ain't gonna stop and won't stop.

98% of the members on here either have their shit lowered or they are on the way to getting it lowered. Ain't nobody trying to here that bullshit, GTFO with that ho ass article.

LMAO. its not just about being lowered, its about being so low you destroy shit and not caring about safety. there's a big difference.

Even though the points are made and I agree, I'm still by no means worried about any stanced cars on the road. I'm way more disturbed by the fact that there are A LOT of really badly maintained cars around (as an assisting car mechanic I have seen crazy things...)

Atleast most of the stanced cars around here are done by enthusiasts who maintain their car, even if the undersides get worn or the tires go bad, they're REPLACED on time. Then there are these "regular Joe"-type people who don't do jack for their car until something bad happens (to the car or the user)

I am more worried about the camry beside me who hasn't changed balljonts and bushings that are sqeaking and shot in lord knows how long. My car has all new bushing balljoints all that. So I like to smash oilpans and shot sparks with my exhaust atleast my car is prpoerly maintained.

A car is a tool. (Tool; anything used as a means of accomplishing a task or purpose.) A lethal one at that.

Hell, let's compare cars to guns, shall we? You need a license to operate both. Both require general maintenance and upkeep. They're both customizable to the owner's like. Both shouldn't be operated by children. And both have the ability to kill.

The point is; cars are customizable to a point. The line should be drawn when you start endangering yourself and those around you.

                          Apparently so is stupidity.

Nothing pains me more and makes me not want to live on this planet than seeing nice, new cars like TSX, TL, VWs, Accords, Lexus, etc that are cruising down the highway, sparking. The new trend should be "I've been through __ oil pans!!" Just erase and write in a new number every time you blow through one.

It's like people enjoy destroying nice things. You might as well tie your $1000 laptop to your bumper and drag it around with you. Call the scrapes and gouges "battle scars". And when it finally breaks and quits working, fuck it. Just drop another grand a new one. Fuck it. YOLO, right?

Car guys need to start taking hints from the mini truck guys. Im not even a mini truck fan and I know those guys do it right. And in the process they lose functionality. The beds of some trucks are virtually non-existent. But it's not an unsafe road hazard.

Is stance and slammed a "cool" new fad? Sure. Has it gone far enough? Yes. People need to be careful because it's starting to swing in the other direction where everyone no longer thinks it's cool but stupid and unsafe.

I can't tell you how to build your car. I can't. But I can tell you, from personal and professional experience, that it is unsafe. Will you listen? No. Will you care? No. But I can shake my head at you while thinking to myself, "What an idiot."

All-in-all, it's a fad. You, and all you're little friends will outgrow it. Trust me.

Really? Have you ever heard of railin? Mini truck guys love scraping their frames. Some even install magnesium blocks for extra sparkage (yeah, like that's safe). Then slam their frame on the ground when they park, which definitely doesn't cause stress or damage, right? Sure it's modified and you might think it's not unsafe, but I've seen those trucks spin the rear axle completely around on a freeway. Just like any style, there are people who do it right and those who do it wrong. Don't condemn those that follow the stance style because of the few that do it awfully wrong. These people exist in all styles of car modification. It's just someone trying to follow the style but in a very cheap way.

I will you credit there. I've seen, and know, people who lower their cars right. There are people who know the true in's and out's of suspension.

It's just another form of modding. Some people are absolutely fine with Ebay and knock-off parts. Others prefer to spend the extra money and buy legit, OEM parts from reputable places. Saving money does you no good if you cut corners.

I Lol'd pretty hard. A mini truck guy will be one of the first ones to tell you to cut your springs. But like said before, there are those who do it right and those who do it wrong, no need to condemn the whole group
