Oh and I used the Precision brand bearing. I had to grind down the spindle a bit to get it to fit.

Precisions suck. You will be doing it again soon.

I have two CBs. Last year I tore the front end of both of them down and replaced everything. I used Precision wheel bearings. By the end of last year I had to replace all 4. Just FYI.

Talk about a series of unfortunate events. I was planning on going back and replacing all the balljoints when i decide to change the left bearing. Damn I'm just to lazy to do that side again. Hopefully the precision holds up well.

No not on yours! What bolts Pep Boys didn’t fuck up on your front end some other mechanic did.

The only easy way to fix your situation is with JY knuckles that don’t have the bolts striped out and the heads of the bolts rounded off. I still can’t believe your passenger side hub bolts. That one bolt looks like someone hammered on it with a chisel.

And I broke your driver side axle nut loose with barely any pressure at all. And it wasn’t dimpled.

I do wish you good luck.

I think I got by with one Precision for six or seven months before it went out.

Cheap or lower end wheel bearings are hit and miss. I’m not trying to force any brand on anyone I’m just trying to help people not get fucked and have to redo something they already did right the first time. I know how aggravated I was to have to do it twice.

Cheap parts or parts that are prone to fail suck. I wish cheap or underachieving parts were illegal.

But on the flip side they shoudnt make good quality parts stupid expensive either.

Every part for every car should have to meet strict QC before being able to be sold. Some parts are bad or prone to failure from the factory and can be dangerous if they fail on the car.

Funny thing is the Precision brand was the more expensive of the two brands at O'reilly's.

How much did you pay for your Precisions? It shows only about $20 per side. Is that a price mistake? Did yours come with studs already installed? Did it fit good or did you have to slightly mod to fit?
                          Thanks.

How much do OEMs cost? I MAY be able to get you them for $350 + shipping. I have one already, I rememeber paying $175 for the one I have already as a spare.

I paid $49.68 for it. It says it has a 3 year warranty. But getting that sucker off again over and over again is redundant and dumb. I'm just going to go a head and get the Honda OEM ones which cost me $123.87 (employee pricing though).

On second thought I might just do the 5 lug swap if it goes out again. About the same amount of labor.

damn dood, if you're willing to pay that much, why not just get Timken? It's slightly cheaper than Honda but the quality is just as good if not better.
