    Mild Knock In Front Suspension.

I have a 1993 coupe that has been 5-Lug converted in the front using Odyssey knuckles and the whole shebang. I've had a knock for a while, and I assumed it was my lower ball joints. Today I install new ones (OEM), and a little greased leaked out on the side that sounds like it has a mild knock. I doubt if this is the culprit. I have a SPC ball joint camber kit, and I believe everything is tight. It's a mild knock, and I only hear it over little bumps and ruts. When I hit a big bump or pothole, it sounds normal.

    What going on?

Sounds like a bad outer CV joint.

      Really!

I thought they normally made a clicking sound when bad. The boots look like they are in good shape.

It depends on which part of the joint is bad. My Taurus has a bad one and it sounds AWFUL going over bumps and dips. On a flat road you don't even hear it. I know it's my CV joint because I damaged it when I was replacing the lot on it.

You've checked your front sway bar link bushing? made sure they arent lose or already cracked/fucked?

I had to take them off today. I believe I tightened them back up, but I'll double check tomorrow. They're kinda fresh. Prothane installed about 6 or so months ago.

Upper control arm bolts, I think!

That'll do it too. If you've got doubts as to whether or not you've tightened everything properly then you should go back and double check all of your suspension pieces.

I've found the culprit. It's the adjustable body that locks with the locking nut. For some odd reason, even with the locking nut tight, the adjustable body can move about 1 mm radially. Not cool!

I'll call the company to get some feedback.

It's not the camber kit, it's the coilover.

I have SPC ball joint style in the front.
