So if i were to buy the Progress REAR bar, is it a simple "plug & play" part? Or are you saying I have to drill holes into some part of the car (probably trailing arm) to get the bar bolted in place?
I see the Progress bar does come with endlinks, but again, like with ST, do you have to buy the end links from them or can you buy a comparable endlink from another company thats readly available at local part stores? im not worried about the first set of endlinks, just that when its time to change them (every 2-3 years), Id like NOT to have to call an online auto store to buy them, becasue they are the ONLY ones who make them.
I didnt see a front bar from Progress, do they maker one?
And aslo, if someone knows. Are the FRONT ST bar endlinks the same as OEM or are the specific to JUST the ST bar, like the rears?
Im sorry for the questions, I REALLY thought buying a larger sway bar would be ALOT simpler than what its turing out to be.
I have a 98 Taurus SE also, and have taken the sway bars off a 90 Taurus SHO. And that was a simple swap, PAIN in the ASS to get the bars in and out, but it worked. I went from (estimated) 21mm Front and a 19mm Rear to a 24mm front and 26mm rear. And the endlinks for my 98 work on the 90 bars. the stiffness is GREATLY noticeable and NOT bad at all on casual driving.
So I "thought" some CB7 Accords did come with rear bars and the ST bars were exact copies of them, just larger diameter. And since some Accords did come with rear bars (im ASSUMING, could be wrong), that all cb7 accords would be identical in the rear suspension. meaning you can simply pull a rear bar off an Accord that has one on it and put it on your cb7 Accord.
Just liek with the Taurus, some 99 models didnt come with a rear bar, but you can EASILY take one off any 99 (96-99) Taurus that has one and simply bolt it on to the taurus that didnt come with one, youd have to buy endlinks and bushings and the brackets, but all the holes are already their one the car to bolt them up.
Im kinda guessing know that this isnt the saem situation with the cb7 Accord But Than again, I thought all front disc brakes were the same when it came to taking off the rotor and pads. But DAMN was I wonrg, when i tried doing the front brakes on this car. had to take off the knuckle, wheel bearing, and a couple hundred dollars later, I got new ball joints, wheel bearings, ALL new bolts, knuckle was grinded clean, new rotors and pads, caliper and brakets painted Granted it was about 1000 times more difficult than i thought but I did learn alot about it and now my breaks are SWEET looking and work GREAT
