    new suspension

    *cliff notes at bottom*
so first off, i should say my car has been in an accident. since i bought it a year ago, it has been pulling to the left or right, sometimes hard, sometimes barely noticeable. i got a new set of rims and tires and after a proper alignment and wheel balancing, the drifting stopped. a few days after that alignment, it started back up again.

the guy at town fair tire who performed the alignment said because of the accident, it would be impossible to properly realign my car. i then mentioned i was planning on getting a new suspension and he said that would solve my problem after i got it and a proper camber kit.

now i brought this information to my dad and i told him how much a new suspensions setup would cost. i told him about $600-$700 for everything. i'm pretty sure i'm within a reasonable budget. now what i want to know is what are the best springs/shocks/ anything i need to make my suspension right again.

now, i did A LOT of searching and spent a couple of hours reading over every sticky but most of the posts have to do with slamming a car or just don't fit my needs.

i want the drop to be about an inch to an inch and a half. no lower than 2 inches because of the roads around here. i've been looking around and taking advice and found some stuff i might like. from what i can read, eibach is a great brand with some parts i'm looking for, especially the springs. as for the shocks, the KYBs look very promising with a lot of good reviews. can i use these in combination with each other to achieve my desired drop? i don't think i'm interested in a coil over set up.

    or

    rear- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KYB-7...item5add96d6da

is there anything in addition to these items i may need to buy? such as camber kits and bushings etc. i want this suspension job to be done right with some quality parts so any advice and links are greatly appreciated. i'm scavenging ebay as you read this but i want to be sure i'm pointed in the right direction.

    spc kit: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KYB-7...item5add96d6da

    energy suspension kit: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Energ...item45f70d934c

i'm also interested in strut bars or possibly sway bars depending on how expensive and complicated they may be.

    *CLIFF NOTES*
    budget: $600-$700
want: a drop of about 1 inch to an inch and a half, no more than 2 inches, ride comfort to be mildly better than performance handling
need: to replace most if not all suspension components.

    thanks in advance

Don't get KYB shocks. Get these, they're better and cheaper.

    http://neuspeed.com/products/product...port&p_id=2157

59 dollars each for a Koni...can't go wrong with that. Then pick a quality spring that lowers where you want.

H&R sport, Eibach Sportline, Progress sport, and Neuspeed sport are all a good choice for spring.

If you get Neuspeed sport springs and those shocks all from Neuspeed, that's under 450 for a setup that's better than any of the links you posted.

The Koni orange shock is THE BEST bang for the buck shock you can get for a DD. Hands down.
There are no black and white suspension answers!!!!!!!!!!!

That's correct. I think that setup would satisfy you. As for strut bars....I would get the Neuspeed bar(which is discontinued) or the ESP 3-point front bar.

They both have drawbacks though. The neuspeed bar is discontinued and won't fit with a H22 swap without notching the valve cover i think. the ESP bar is good its just steel so its heavy.

Strut bars with pins or hinges on them are bad news. They don't work well at all.

I would upgrade my sway bars and/or bushings before worrying about tie bars though.

thanks a lot, you've been a great help. the konis sound like a great deal and those neuspeed springs are the perfect drop height.

              Sway bars

              do you have an ex/se
              or lx dx

rear is more important to upgrade first, because we are fwd

if its an lx/dx, then you have no rear sway bar at all
if you have a ex/se, you have a rear bar of 14mm

              for an upgrade
grab yourself a 16mm acura vigor-(any) rear bar from the junkyard, should be no more than 15 dollars

EDIT* if you are driving an lx/dx and you want to install the ex 14mm or vigor 16mm you will also need the rear crossmember from the ex, and if you do intend to use the vigor bar the rear crossmember will need to be odded a bit to accomodate the larger bar. i just found this out because i went to install the vigor bar i had a couple days ago. apparantly you may also need to get an alignment afterwards, but im not certain on that information, it just says so in the following diy

SUSP: Cross Member & Rear Sway Swap

or you could go super extreme and pick youself up the progress rear sway bar whiich is 22 mm, people say it works miracles for them, and i do not doubt it: it is a MASSIVE bar, considering the weight of our cars,
              Front
              lx/dx = 22.3mm
              ex/se = 25

if you have an lx/dx you can consider grabbing the ex sway bar, but only after picking up the rear sway bar I mentioned.

there are options for upgrading the front sway bar with aftermarket bars, most are no bigger than 27, but Tanabe makes a 30.4 mm sway bar marketed only for the 94-97 accord, which i have asked and been told that it fits on our cars

the 25mm EX bar is definitley big enough for someone who does not race. or want supercar handling

i found through searching a couple months ago 2 members that have mentioned having the tanabe front 30.4 mm bar, and only one claimed to be using it on his mrt. I cant remember who it was right now, and the thread i opened abot the bar seems to have been lost while the forum was down.

              another thing to consider
battery relocation also heps make the car feel more nuetral, and is cheaper than a carbon fiber hood, which would do the same thing, as far as handling

a note to remember if you decide to go with the polyurethane bushing master set, my friend installed some bushings into his 98 accord and we lubed the hell out of them, it was quiet for a month, and now were starting to here a few squeeks. but he loves how they have changed the way his car feels
some members i have seen talk about having them on here, they say it sounds like a flock of birds when they hit a small bump, but thats a few members

in case people on here realize there is no bushings kits for the 98-02 accord and call bogus; we used some of the bushings out of the 90-97 kit, as some of those are the same size specifically the lowercontrol arms
