rack and pinion bolts fell off

how the fcuk does that happen!?!?!

I was at LAX today and heard a loud clunk and I got freaked out..I was driving and noticed my steering was hard as fuck..next thing you know I can barely turn the wheel..I get home and my first though was broken belt..to my surprise it was still in tact..next thought was broken line..once again wrong..lifted the car up and did the tie rod test and both sides moved like crazy amounts..I got under the car and notcied something was wrong because ALL MY FUCKING BOLTS WERE MISSING!!!!

the two actual bolts that hold the rack in and the brackets were hanging on by one bolt each..

someone please explain this to me..the rack and pinion were just recently changed and bolts were put on right..soooo?????

    WTF!

    Rush

The bolts weren't tightened properly or the wrong bolts were used.

You don't need loctite, just need to torque them properly.

I check all the bolts under the car regularly, they all come loose over time.

you can either change the subframe or have yours repaired, either way it is a pita
