    front suspension nosie

front of my car makes a squeaky noise when i hit bumps in the road

next problem when i park my car am getting a crying noise when i turn the steering wheel on the front left side. even when am driving turning. and if i rock the steering wheel left to right its making a crying noise. what can it be.

i change the lower ball joints, outer tie rod, inner tie rod, upper control arms, rack-and-pinion boots, sway bar end link bushing. am thinking i have to change my lower ball joint again i had change them last year.

Did you use a good brand name lower balljoint? I had both sides crap out after only 3 months (squeaking and some slight play). They were Beck/Arnleys. Never had a problem with any of their other stuff but after that, I only buy Moog or Honda lower balljoints.

A broken coil. I had the same squeaking/creaking noise in my front end, I put my coil overs on and found out my front left coil was broke at the top and bottom.

I am thinking its power steering related (since it squeals when turning the wheel - when stationary).

I think it could be either the power steering belt (loose or too tight), power steering pump (when operated during turns) or the rack and pinion (since you only changed the rack and pinion boots but the component could already be damaged or worn).

Have someone in front listen (or you) while you (or your friend) turn the wheel to try and isolate the location of the squeal.

I assume the squeaky noise was due to what you determined to be a loose ball joint?

Didn't you mentioned you just changed all the ball joints last year? If that is the case i doubt the ball joint to be the problem. One set under normal use should last for at least a decade. If they were to loosen up i would have thought they would have within the first few weeks of initial installation, not after a year.

How about the crying noise have you solved that and what was it?

^Some of those cheap brand balljoints do go bad after very few miles so I'm not surprised. I'm not sure if it's just a crap design or they cheap out on the grease but one side went bad on the Beck/Arnleys after 3 months, so I got it warranted. Low and behold the warranted one went bad after 2 months and the other side was also starting to squeak. So I took them both back and swapped them for Moogs.

I've changed quite a few lower balljoints on Civics and Accords and almost all of them had the initial symptom of squeaking when turning the wheel stationary which is why in this case, it raised flags for me.

Wow failure so early for ball joints. I would be more inclined to suggest buying oem and save the hassle of taking the risk of buying a bad part, loss of peace of mind (that it can go bad in a year) and also costing more time, money (fuel, parking, cleaning materials etc) redoing it again.

Not to mention the loss of quality ride, loss of driving pleasure and ownership satisfaction - on a car which you are constantly battling repairs and maintenance in many fronts.

In my opinion i would go oem and know it will be good for another decade. Any problems that then manifests itself i can narrow down quickly and efficiently without doubting any of the recent parts i have just installed.

OEM are dearer thats for sure but the quality of Honda is unsurpassed. Unless you know the contracted Honda supplier (in which case you can buy their part and know it will be the same as oem) i would stick with OEM.
