there is a nut on it but its kinda like the front upper and lower ball joints. you have to hammer them out. i had this same problem with my rear disc swap. i just used the UCA from the other car and put it all on together. a WHOLE lot more simple.

take it to a shop and have them press it out. if you take the entire unit off the car it shouldnt be no more than like $10-15 for them to press them out for you.

hmm..... Those screws are just there to help during assembly... Take them off then remove the rotor..

if you are replacing the part what would the boot matter there is a new one on the new control arm that is being put on

true but what if your doing something else like chaging axels and you have to remove lower ball joint? i still havent found a good way to pop em out without hurting the boot

thats when you either put a chisel that is wider than the steering knuckle and the lower control and wedge it out. when looking at the lower balljoint from behind the steering knuckle look towards the inside of the car there is a spot where a wide chisel can barely fit in between the knuckle and the lower control arm

or you can remove the nut then hit the lower control arm with a hammer around the balljoint it takes a few good wackes with a 2.5 lb mini sledge

and i just thought about it the boot is only 11 dollars at honda and the balljoint itself is only 19 dollars
with are cars being as old as they are why not replace them.
