Koni strt

Whats up people. Im trying to deside weather I buy some Koni STRT or get another set of the Tokiko blues. I also wanted to know if any of you guys use the Skunk 2 struts, and what you think about them. I like the way my Tokikos rode before they blew on me, but the other sets are availible for about the same price. Please let me know what you guys think. Im rolling on Eibach sportlines.

I would stay with Tokico but i would go with the Illumina series

i have Skunk2 struts. had some skunk2 coilovers with them. rode REAL smooth, but they didnt give me the drop i wanted. on the lowest perch i still had a 2 finger gap all around. so i just put some ebay sleeves on that i had and took the skunk2's off. rides good. could be better if i had some better coilovers on tho.

Skunk2 shocks suck.
Tokico blues are only slightly more performance oriented than stock.
STR-Ts are significantly better than either of those, although they're still Koni's low end.

Shell out the scratch for some Koni Yellows and never look back.

A smooth ride is determined by the combination of both the shock and the spring, you need to match them properly. The lower you go, the harsher the ride is going to be(or at least should be) to prevent bottoming out. There are a few springs out there that go very low with a softer rate, but you're going to need good shocks and be careful when driving.

GR2's and sprint blues is a pretty smooth riding setup, as both the springs and shocks are about 15% ish stiffer than stock, which isn't much compared to say, a race spring, which is often 100+% stiffer in the front.

Skunk2's suck dick. Of the three I would go with the Konis. As low as you are though, I would pony up for some Illuminas. Your ride will be better with those for sure.

If you're going to pay for adjustables, just shell out the little extra and do it right with Koni Yellows.

Which Skunk2's are you talking about? Their coilover sleeves are fine if your dampers are strong enough.

I've heard their shocks are pretty poor though in terms of force (can't handle a high spring rate)

This makes me curious though, because I've ridden in a car with Pro-S full coilovers, which is essentially their coilover sleeves and shocks combined, except the valving must have been much better, because it was a good ride.

For some strange reason, it seems Skunk2's own shocks and coilover sleeves aren't matched to each other.

Probably because Skunk2 doesn't EVER do anything with Accords, so I'm sure the R&D for those parts was very limited.

I trust Skunk2's H22 parts... but that's all that I'll ever get from them for my CB7. They're not a bad company... they just don't seem to know or care about Accords.

The shocks are basically stock, and their sleeves are too strong even for Koni Yellows (560#/in F/R). They did absolutely no R&D. They did have shorter shafts though. Overall, I was disappointed with them.

I wonder if they would give out any number about their shocks. 560lbs isn't too much for a Koni Yellow though.
