Purchasing Function Form Type 1 Full Coilover

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-91...Q5fAccessories

Being that these dont give you the option to adjust dampering.
If I wanted to slam my car, would it be bouncy? Give me some insight
on these, and why you would need dampering on a full coilover.

    Thank You.

if you want to slam, your suspension needs to be really stiff. adjustable dampening is good because sometimes when people say they're slamming, they really are just going kinda low.

the type 1s are better than a basic slip coilover set with basic struts, but you would be better off with ground controls and konis because of the adjustability.
you can't tell if the non-adjustable set your getting is going to be enough to hold you up comfortably and still keep you from contacting the ground unless you try or someone else tells you for a fact.

the only system i know of that is not adjustable that would be good for slammed cars is Omnipower. everywhere i read they seem to be liked. thats what im picking up from the guy who was the lowest member on here.

thats what I thought I was going to hear. I was really
trying to stay away from sleeves though. But, I dont want to spend
800+ dollars. I will keep looking to see what I find. I appreciate your
info, and I will keep that in mind.

it's just another option. the GC and koni yellow setup is practically a full system. they make struts specifically for coilover sleeves.

but if your already around the 6-700$ range, join honda-tech and look up the Ksport special price. $780 shipped. It doesn't get much better than that really. i had just found a huge deal.

with those k-sports, do you need a camber kit with them?

marcus...................... u need to ride in my car

riderz....... these coil overs have technically 2 ways of adjusment

1in at the sleeve, like any other coil over, (your basically adjusting spring rate, not height, being this a very bumpy bitch)

2 is at the bottom sleeve, you leave spring rate like it is and you spin the lover sleeve and it makes the acutal coil-over assy shorter but the spring rate stays the same

so scrape the floor as much as you want, you're ride will be the same
you really dont need to spend $400 more on dampening

you'll problably will never need them

but as far as suspension, this one, has my approval, being one of the cheapest

            you wont regret it

so go with them, or what? i want something i can dump, but won't
kill my bankroll, and won't damage the car.

the thing is, the type 2's have extra dampening to stiffen the ride overall to keep you from bottoming out. your car isn't exactly slammed. the ride is going to be great on those, but when you have less than an inch between you and the floor, every bit helps. not enough stiff, say bye bye to your oil pan, tranny case, or at least your downpipe.

you havent seen my car lately. trust me. you need every bit. OP, you need to figure out how low you want to be. if you want to be on the floor like me, astrovannin, or slammed4thgen, you need more than the type 1's. if not, they'll work fine.

                    Another good alternative:

                    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEX-G...Q5fAccessories

I had the non-adjustables on my Maxima and they rode really nicely. I wished the damping was a little stiffer. These are well priced, well made and everyone I know who's messed with Nex coilovers has only had good things to say about them. GC and Koni is good if you stay within a reasonable height, but with these Nex's I think you can legitimately slam the car and not have to worry about it. I kinda wish I had got these from the get go....

They lower more. I could have had my Maxima on the ground.

i just installed FF type 1s on my car
they feel great and the price was good too
im not "slammed" but ive got the front set pretty low and i could go about another inch lower
but i do think if you want to be all the way down they wouldnt be all that good because they arnt crazy stiff. i dont bottom out but i probably would if i went an inch lower
