    ATE Eliptical Groove Rotors.

so i notice everyones picked up alot of different types of rotors, Slotted, Drilled, drilled and slotted.... i recently came across these and bought them....

they are ATE Eliptical Groove Rotors. ... they are goin on my rears Tommorow... here are some pics...

i was worried when i ordered them that the grooves would not be very deep, but they are , and on both front and back.

They look neat, but I don't see how they would give any advantage over a slotted rotor.

Do you have any documentation on their design?
There are no black and white suspension answers!!!!!!!!!!!

honestly, they just happend to be available in my area, i don't know if they would be any better then anything else, but i liked them. so i went with them, i feel they were a nice choice over regular economy rotors.... they do appear to be a quality rotor...not much documentation

I almost got them. but tirerack only had rears. & it seems like they wont wear down the pads as much as the regular slotted ones

                      googe works wonders....

                      • Patented RotorLife wear indicator.

                      • The wear indicator's interlaced elliptical grooves are machined into the rotor face at complimentary angles.

                      • The MetaCote protective coating formulation is cured at approximately 572°F. No grease or oil to remove.

                      • Application specific design is engineered to tighter tolerances than rotors that take a "one size fits all" approach.

                      • Helps technicians and vehicle owners gauge rotor thickness at a glance, and notice when they are due for replacement.

                      • Groove design enhances dissipation of heat and gases to reduce brake fade, extend pad life. Looks great with cast spoke wheels.

                      • Helps protect against road salt, brake fluid and other corrosives — sheds water and dirt for clean appearance behind cast spoke wheels. Reduces overall installation time.

                      • Fits and performs like or better than the Original Equipment it replaces — provides added value and convenience for brake technicians and their customers. No machining needed.

                      imo: its an oem upgrade
