    Apex Springs, what shocks?

I picked up some Apex springs from a friend for 80 bucks, but I can't decide on what shocks to get for them.

Also are there some shocks that will not work with certain springs? Or does basically everything work with everything?

It shouldn't be more than a 2" drop, on their website it says 40mm (which is about 1.6"). But yeah apparently these springs are like mega stiff, from what I hear.

          Skunk2's.
          Koni Yellow's.
          Tokico Blue's.

Just don't get an OEM replacement shock.
The rest is up to you and your budget.

I'm kind of looking at Bilstein non-adjustables. I'm not auto-crossing or anything, pretty much just drag.

I bought a set of spring tech struts that were like $180 shipped off of ebay. They have an adjustable spring perch to raise or lower the ride height (+1in or -1in with .5in incriments). I have sprint extremes on them (a very stiff spring) and after three months they are still holding up well. The price was for all four.

does tha car in your signature not have a motor in it?...if so how does it sit so high?

Yes it has a H22 in it. It doesn't sit higher than stock, it's just the angle of the picture. Stock 4" wheel gap. Actually, one side sits lower than stock, because one or both of my struts on the driver's side are blown..

You won't do better than the Bilsteins, but 'stock' Bilsteins for an Accord will be valved to suit stock Accord springs (and probably somewhat stiffer). Despite the very high(est) quality, Bilsteins are not user adjustable (no knobs), and if you have "very stiff" springs then you may need to talk to the Bilstein people about revalving to suit those springs...

Konis are not quite as good as Bilsteins, but the difference between Bilstein and Koni is arguably far less than the difference between Koni and the next best. Koni yellows (i.e. 'Sports') are supposed to be able to cope with quite stiff springs, virtue of the Koni adjustable rebound rate.

Only rebound is adjustable with Konis, but it adjusts from quite soft to very stiff, whereas most other adjustable dampers have very little actual adjustment range (despite a huge number of adjustment 'clicks' in very many cases). Konis have no bump rate adjustment, but then bump isn't nearly as important as rebound, and most dampers that do (claim) to have 'adjustable' bump rate actually have almost zero adjustment (so little it's not worth having).

Konis, like Bilsteins, can be fully rebuilt and revalved to suit just about any spring rate and any application.

A blown damper won't affect ride height. Pressurised dampers have some affect on ride height, but it's very very small, so any affect of a damper that has lost pressure will be very very small.

If the car isn't sitting evenly then you may have:
                          One or more sagged springs.
Worn / damaged bushes (possibly at the bottom of each spring/damper unit).
Missing or collapsed upper spring seat rubber.
                          Accident damaged chassis.
                          Some combination of the above.

Well, it only sits like an inch lower. And it is not from an accident, because it started sagging while I owned it.

But that's not important!! I'm replacing the springs and struts VERY soon! I just ordered the Bilsteins with 3-day shipping. My buddy has a spring compressor, so we'll put everything in next week. Or the week after.

Update. I put them in, Bilstein shocks (from shox.com, which I HIGHLY recommend) with Apex springs! It's just under a two finger wheel gap in the front, and 3 finger gap in the back. I'm EXTREMELY happy with how it feels! I can pretty much take a 90 degree angle turn (at any intersection) at almost 40 without my tires squealing or anything. This setup is STIFF AS F*** in the front, and the back is a tiny bit softer than the front, but is still pretty stiff. Setup is NO QUESTION way better than stock. Also, I guess my car must have been leaning because of a sagged spring, because it no longer leans to one side!!
