    rubber rings on rear springs?

i just installed the neuspeed race springs on my car yesterday. and the instructions said that to eliminate some noise, i have to put on those rubber rings on the dead coils of the rear spring. i put on the rubber rings but when i put the car down, the rear looks like its back to stock height. but when i remove them, the rear get dropped lower but has the noise that the neuspeed instructions said i would get without the rubber. the springs are brand new and haven't settled yet, so i need to know if i should just leave the rubber rings on and wait for the springs to settle or should i just take them off?

I have them on mine, but then again i do have coilovers.
Mike (mike93ex) bought the ones off my parts car and put them on his.
Now his rear looks high, but it rides better...

yea, with them on it looks high but, it rides better. without them the rear is lower but, the ride is harsh.

It's a noise thing. The rubber is to prevent "spring slap", when the dead coils rub against each other creating (IMHO) really annoying grinding noise. My Megan's do it and they didn't provide rubber for them. I ended up cutting up some pneumatic hose and wrapping it around. They'll settle some, but I'd ride with them.

the rubber rings im talking about are the oem rubber rings that are wraped around the upper part of the rear oem spring.
