Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Yo, I ain't braggin aight. Even though it was on a mustang dyno (lower numbers than dynojet typically), on 87 octance because it's my DD and conservative DD tune. I know this motor can put out more if it were my ONLY car and I cared to, but look at my white project thread and you'll see why I leave the more extreme stuff for that build.

This thread is soley for reference for the many that keep asking about mild NA F22ax SOHC builds and one that runs on 87 octane as a daily-driver. I did this as a favor to you all.

I appreciate the compliments, I'm just trying to help the community.

Also, I added a "TIPS/SUGGESTIONS" section under the dyno graph for what I would do with this platform to make it even better, but still retain daily driveability. Take what you want from it, but the an H23 or even H22 5spd tranny would GREATLY compliment this setup, the F22 DX 5spd does it no justice as you can see from the video.

Also, keep in mind the CHR Motorsports has more experience now with our F22ax SOHC heads and offers even better portwork on the heads than at the time of my red Accord build. I know this because I helped in the R&D between both my projects.

I still see F22ax mild NA build related questions and I wonder how many actually know this thread exists and/or reference it.

I really appreciate you making this thread bro. I went drag racing the other night and I was embarrassed by my 1/4 time. I have had a spare SOHC f22a head laying in my garage for quite some time and I'm using this as a base point for my head build. It already has a couple tweaks, but copying 100% wouldn't be any fun

I live in ohio now, hopefully I can meet you at one of the car meets.

The only thing that worries me about this head build is the fact that I burn oil. I'm hoping it's not my rings.

Contact Jeff at www.chrracingproducts.com and talk to him of your plans to set something up. Common sense really, if you really wanted it done you would have done this already. Why are you wasting time asking me? I have given enough information for you to look him up.

Even better mated to an H23 trans. The guy with the Bisi level 2 cam has one for sale, hit him up!

You also don't waste money on cam tuning, when I proved it is not necessary on a cam REGRIND that's based of stock core. However, if you have a hardweld cam or new core cam design, yes you will. Yet, if you have all the cam specs, you can technically line up the cam to it's proper setting with a degree wheel.
hold up. so i don't need to tune if i get a stage 2 bisi cam? i think that is regrind too...

Yes you will need an engine computer/management tune for ignition and fuel, but not for the physical/cam timing on regrinds.

Theres a lot more power hiding in that motor. Dont let the numbers fool you. If one were to mate that motor with a good clutch, light flywheel, h22 trans + LSD, it would absolutely come alive.

                            Nice work.

It does have a 5 lb lighter flywheel, at 12 lbs. Yes, this red project motor would do very nicely mated to an H22 or H23 tranny. It does need a good clutch too, as the currently one is slipping. However, this motor would also do nicely with a Bisimoto stage 2 camshaft. All this and still running 87 octane, wish I could complete this and prove that more power is there but I need to move on. I have the white project getting ready to be road-worthy soon and the red has about 3 yrs left before I upgrade in the future to something newer as my life has progressed.
