Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

My tuner swears stock honda will hold up to about 500whp on a turbo car running 10.5" wide drag tires. I didn't believe him until I saw it happen with my own eyes over the weekend. They won't snap, but they will start to click after a weekend of drag strip runs. He convinced my buddy that just had him build/tune a 460whp turbo h22 prelude to run stock axles. He said they'll never break, and if they do, they're lifetime warranty.

I have lifetime warranty's on now and its my 4th set. Not saying they don't hold up tho, they go through some serious beating, daily!!!

I do burn outs from a stop mashing the pedal and nothing has happened yet (191k miles on the car, not sure but axels look old)
                  wat?

But are you pushing the 400hp that the above Honda's are pushing on stock axles? On a stock motor f/h22's stock is fine.

Quick edit-I have snapped an axle passenger side one to be exact. Lightly modded f22.

Dropping the clutch from a stand still is retarded.

                        Not preloading is retarded.

You guys need to learn how to launch.

Stronger axles will cost you more than they are really worth. Especially for your setup.

Regardless, if you're at the track and you have a decent amount of power you need some beefier axles

                            Not really.

People have run deep into the 10's with stock honda axles.

It's ALL in how you launch.

i road raced the accord and after 3 track days my driver axle (im thinking passenger also) was toasted, they may handle smooth launches in a straight line... but threshold brakeing with molten tires and they are gone... so it also depends on what you do. i never launch hard, but that doesn't mean my stock a6 cant break an axle, well never an axle (not enough power) always a cv joint.
Engines hate me... thats why they commit suicide
