For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

    f22 pistons in h22 block

i was just planing on using the f22 crank and rods im h22 block. my question is if i was to get f22 spec aftermarket pistons would that work well in the block with out the problem of sticking out of the cylinder as with the h22 pistons and f22 crank and rods just a thought

    Ain't gonna fucking happen.
    H22 bore = 87 mm
    F22 bore = 85mm

Research shit a little better before you come up with this conclusion.

wow, even I think this is rude...

Anyways. Asides from the different bore sizes, you cannot put a forged piston in an h22 without resleeving(only mahle pistons, but those aren't f22 spec).

You COULD order a custom set of Mahle pistons tho.

Yeah, I guess I am not in a good mood. But, why would you really want the H22 block? Besides being bored out 2mm they have sleeves that cannot be machined by any regular machine shop. And, this is in the N/A section where you want higher compression, and just regular H22 pistons are better.

You are better off putting the H22 pistons on F22 rods/crank to stroke out an H22.

I thought the F22 and H22 cranks were the same....are the rods different length? Or was it f22 and h23 cranks are the same?

            f22/h23 is the same.

h22 has a completely different stroke. the rods are also a different size(from the f22)

im aware of all that im getting my block sleeved for 89mm pistons f22 crank f22 aftermarket rods and high comp. pistons i want to keep it at 12.1 with the difference in piston hight high comp h22 pistons would mostlikly stick out of the cylinder i really just want to know f22 spec high comp pistons they are custom would stay in the bore

its probaly worded wrong but if u get it please reply

If they're "f22 spec", they won't fit in an h22.

If you just mean CUSTOM pistons, then yes.

Either way, you cannot put normal forged pistons into an h22. You need special pistons, mahle makes them.

But when you sleve the h22 block and bore it to 89mm, you can use any piston you want that fit.

But yes, if you have pistons made in an 89mm bore with the compression height of the f22, you won't have a problem with the pistons comming out of the block. You can use h23 pistons too.

the f22a crank and rods in a h22a will stroke it to 2.3L and give a added bump in compression get some type s h22a pistons with f22a crank and rods your good
