Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.


The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.


For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.


Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

    I cant see the point in this, if you are taking the engine apart far enough to replace the rods, you may as well save a little more cash and do it right, just get pistons to match your compression needs.


    For a cheaper power option, grabbing a junkyard head, mill+cam can get you into higher compression with a much simpler install. and really cheap if your donor head's valvetrain is in good shape. Though you migh have to go for .030 or .040.

        i have ben looking at the bisi and f22parts.com stuff but the thing is i wasnt gonna even spent that much on the build. my step dad who use to race hondas in the 80's and now works for honda just told me to build up the head and get a lighter fly wheel. sounds simple? right i just want the simplest and cheapest way of doing it with out giving up a car i have to drive EVERY DAY. thanks i think im just gonna see how my job goes and keep searching befor i start working on it. but if you have any suggestions for the type of build im looking for please post.

            What kind of Power would you expect with 10.5:1 and a Bisi stage 1 or 2 cam? Assuming proper Intake, headers and exhaust to complement those specs. Any ballpark ideas?

              but a replacing the piston meaning taking out the rods and then worrying about the right clearances for the rod bearings and you have to hang the new pistons on the rods if you want to use the oem ones meaning more money.

              if the bottom end is solid, id mess around with the cylinder head and exhaust. top end is where the power is made.

              with a cam, a better valvetrain is suggested and with a better valvetrain, headwork is suggested as well

              never ending process.
